VRS front spoiler mesh

Featured Replies

After a blast to Oswestry yesterday, on the return journey a HGV kindly spat up a piece of wood straight into the front spoiler of my VRS.

Just washed it this morning and noticed the front central mesh is missing - it looks like a basking shark at present...

Anyway, does anyone have the OEM part number and price, or viable alternatives?

It doesn't look like it's damaged the clips, so it should just be a straight press-in, I'm assuming?

All advice gratefully received.

The part number for the centre lower grill is 1U0 853 677 A. Recently paid £13.18 inc vat for one.

I think it will be easier to remove the front bumper to fit it though. The clips are very tight.

The central mesh fits without removing the bumper, the side mesh/vents can be removed by gripping the central bar and pulling to remove this alows you to get your hands behind central mesh and ensure clips in correctly and and can support the surround as you push the central mesh into place.

Pity your not more local, i have 2 sat in my garage:rolleyes:

Your welcome to one if you want to pick it up

Phil

Thanks everyone - very useful!

Piv - I'm only in Brum, but for a £13 part it would probably cost that again for a run down to Bicester - particularly if it's a nice day ;-) Thanks for the offer though, I'll drop you a line if I don't have any joy with the stealers.

Thanks again.

Jake

My milotec one has popped out of the clips too after something hit it.

I can reach down behind the front bumper, but it's still a bit tight to get back on.

My front Milotec one also has a habit of doing this. I just push it back into place and its okay till i notice it again, lol.

Ah..i thought something had hit it...

Might see if i can bond it on at the back with something.

Yeah, i thought about bonding it in but am too lazy to try, lol.

Let me know what you use if you do.

Cheers :)

Will do.

Once in place, a few dabs of black silicone at the back should even do the trick, not the neatest that could be done, but you aint going to see it behind the bumper.

Just a quick addendum - ordered mine from Kings Heath All Electric, but they said the part nunber is missing "B41" at the end.

Thanks all again.

B41 is the colour code for the grill although I don't think they are available in anything other than satin black.

I too have 2 original centre lower grill's going spare and the left and right ones . I replaced with Milotec ones. Both original and milotec were easy to remove and refit without taking bumper off. I bent the clips on the milotec grills to make a slightly firmer fit. so far no issues.
