Hello from Herts

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm Darren and not yet a Skoda owner but could be very soon.

Looking to get an Octavia vRS. Have driven the petrol but would like a go in the diesel as well before I make any decisions.

I run a 1.9dci Laguna at the moment and do enjoy the relaxed driving style so I might sway towards the diesel. It'll also be cheaper for me to run.

Darren

Welcome

There is always some healthy debate on Petrol vs Diesel here, might be worth having a search. VRS195 posted up some figures you might find useful.

Welcome

Hiya.

If you have a diesel driving style, you might find the petrol engine buzzy on a long motorway drag, and there's not much in it for acceleration in the actually useful 20 to 70 mph band.

Welcome from Herts! Whereabouts are you?

I'm a diesel convert after buying my Furby vRS, don't think I'd go back to petrol.

Was in Letchworth but moved to Stotfold at the back end of last year.

Went to Progress in Letchworth, seem very friendly and quite genuine.

Yeah, I've heard they're pretty good, good labour rates as well IIRC.

Any idea when you're likely to join the ranks with your vRS?

Well hopefully I get to drive a TDI on Saturday and SWMBO will have to have a look as well although she won't be driving it.

Should be able to make a decision pretty soon afterwards.

Had a drive of a Honda Civic 1.8ES as well last week. Very nice motor. I think you either love or hate the shape and the dash layout. Big boot for its size as well. Also cheaper than an Octavia vRS, can't see it being quite as much fun though.
