I'm trying to decide if i should get a front mount or not. I've got a "dragon" box n i'm not planning on doing a re map.

Is it worth my while gettin a fmic or would i just get stupid amounts of lag and see no difference.

not talking first hand here, but as I understand it the standard SMIC is alright with the standard turbo but Pikey Mod #2 makes it better and FMIC is more of a bigger/hybrid turbo thing

Yeah, i've done the pikey mod but was just thinking about a FMIC. If it doesn't do much difference then i may as well keep the side mount. Might open up the wheel arch vents a little more lol Cheers Andy

I have just been offerd a forge fmic/coilovers and miltec exhaust for reasonable money. only about 3 months old.

1 question....running the fmic standard for now what will hapen ? will i use loads of fuel or just have loads of turbo lag ?

If you're running a standard setup, I would just expect to see more lag.

thanks..... some folk say it won't run properly but the lad whos car its on now is only running fmic/exhaust and a remap and it's fine.....just need the turbo/clutch after this all goes on

You will see an improvement in the summer* as the car will not be suffering from heat soak. However, whether that outweighs a little extra lag, I'm not sure

The reason to go for a FMIC is to cope with the higher boost levels/heat created by boosting more - plus it will get rid of heatsoak (or greatly reduce it).

If you dont intend to go for a remap, it IMHO isnt worth doing.

Heatsoak once mapped on the SMIC was bad..
