You pay your money you get your map.

£250 is generic, what is the £500 one?

yes APR from Awesome.

Spending the extra cash will invariably give you the better remap, like someone has already said 'you get what you pay for'!

Only remaps I would consider for the TFSI is APR & REVO and possibly GIAC.

Edit: Oh and btw whatever you do, make sure you do it! ;)

What about AMD Technik or Morego (Star-Chip)?

I'm going by 'proven' successful remaps of the TFSI and the ones you mention I've not seen a single report as to how they perform by someone that's got one. That's not to say they are not any good it's just that imho I would only part with cash for a tried and tested product.

I would be hugely interested in seeing results from the likes of AMD, Superchips and others but remain sceptical as to whether they can cut it with the likes of APR and in particular REVO.

Also when you take your car to be mapped make sure you inform them that you have had trial software installed. They should then flash it back to stock before putting another map on it.

Just to let people know we do not use one file fits all generic maps like many so called tuning companies use. I understand peoples concerns when it comes to choosing a reputable tuning company to let then loose on your pride and joy.

We work very closely with a Germany company that is regarded as writing the best tuned maps in the world and who also writes maps for well known UK tuning companies (Who simply re-badge them to there own)

£500 is to much money now for a remap, back in the days when we had to remove the eproms inside the ECU it was OK but now we can simply reflash the ECU's over the OBD Diagnostics socket its far to much.

I'm sure there are a number of forum members who have already used us to remap there vehicles and ask anyone how passionate we are about what we do.

PendlePerformance

I have just noticed this old thread after about a month of driving my VRS following a remap done by Edge Motorsports near Portsmouth using a Pendle remap. I am delighted with the results! If there is a 'my remap is better than your remap' thing then I don't have a problem with that but I doubt that there would be much in it given the increased performance that I am experiencing.

The mapping data went up to Martin and was adjusted there and then before coming back to Ken at Edge in a short space of time i.e. online connection between them; this wouldn't be the case with a 'one size fits all mapping'. They were open about not doing "remaps that are going to kill your car" and it was this honesty along with the honesty with their pricing that I went for. Had a good laugh with Ken while it was all going on too - top bloke and trustworthy!

The only issue that I have had seems to have been a minor loss of performance recently which coincided with refuelling with what I think was duff fuel and has since gone away i.e no issues with remap.

In short, I can recommend Edge and Pendle.

jus had my car remapped by martin at pendle performance. it is not a generic remap.he does not just pull the original map and reflash it. after driving the car and checking the realtime data he pulls it and takes about an hour and half to re write the file.also he is really helpfull.i never realised that my cambelt tensioner had been damaged for a while, and whilst i testdrove it the belt slipped. luckilynot causing anydamage to engine.i could not have been more pleased with the assistance he gave me. especially as itwasn't his problem.he checked my car when i repaired it and reinserted map. it now runs ace, especially in higher gears on motorway.iwould recommend him to anyone.unless of course you suffer with "remap snobbery" lol. jon.
