Fabia vRS brakes....

Featured Replies

Wheres the best/cheapest place to get discs and pads??

I need rear discs and pads for my 04plate vRS. Also, whats the dimensions for these as the sites i've been on give you a choice of rear pads that look different to me??

Any advice is appreciated!!

Ian:)

Probably eBay unless your looking for geninue parts.

I've used these guys before. Link also has details about dimensions.

GSF and Eurocarparts are pretty good sources in my experience. No idea on size though.

Chris

Have you tried Dingbro, If you know someone with an account.

Ian, check Motorsport World - Performance Car Parts too

I picked up my std 312mm discs from EBC Direct, great value and quick service. Think I have a discount code too, if you want to give me a nudge :):: EBC Brakes Direct Limited :: - I wouldn't use their brake pads again, but the discs I'm pleased with.

For pads, I'd probably go for Mintex Extreme looking at people's reviews. Ferodo stuff is very good, if not a bit pricey.

Steve

Which EBC pads were you running, Steve?

And the Mintex Extremes are like hen's teeth now they've stopped making them....

Chris

I run DS2500s with EBC std discs up front...

Ran their Greenstuff pads up front on my Polo GTi and they were carp!

Shame about the Mintex Extremes, hadn't realised that :( Was looking to those next time I needed some

Steve

As said 1144's (mintex) /\

You can find the disc sizes either in the Haynes manual or by wandering round the web based traders. One easier way, that I have found is to visit your local GSF branch as they can search using your registration number - they seem to use the VAG system to source your car's build options - and their prices for the correct front and rear pads - same manufacturer as used at factory (Pagid front + Textar rear) were a lot better that the site quoted in the previous posting. I went to them deliberately as they stock Pagid and ECR don't.
