I think that my cam chain is very noisy on idle :eek:

If i turn of the aircon the niose becomes more appreant. It seems to come from the left hand side and towards the back of the engine. It is quite loud and even the musses has said that it seems noisier than when we bought it.

Are these easy to change or would it be better to just send it to the garrage to see waht they say.

Any help much appeciated. :(

P.S It is an octy Vrs and has only done 25k and is on a 51 plate.

And you're sure it's not just the infamous ticking filter?

yes m8, i am sure, as this noise comes form the right hand side from the black canister...

I am going the the midlands meet on sunday so I am going to listen to there engines to see if the noise is the same lets hope so

Not really a home job unless you good on the spanners. Requires removal of camshafts etc.

Quite a common fault at one time, get your oil pressure checked firstt hough as it can be an indicator of a failing pump as top end loses oil first.

Surly this should not of happened if it as only covered 25k??
