Hoping to upgrade to an Octavia at some point this year, and if I am lucky will only be able to afford a 1.6 / or 1.8 ambiente. Can you still fit a double din stereo to Octavias with heater and air con - or does it have to be one with climate control? :confused:

as far as i am aware all mark 1's have space for a double din unit.

yea its a double din size hole so remove the standard radio and cubby hole

yep youll just need one of these:

Car Audio Direct - VW Double DIN facia adaptor - Fitting Adaptor

But beware, these surrounds have a lip around the INSIDE as well, so if your DIN unit has anything that folds out, you;ll have to grind the lip down.
