cambelt change in cornwall

Featured Replies

hi, this is my first post so sorry to ask about cambelts.can anyone recommend a decent garage to get my cambelt, and waterpump done in west cornwall? would it be cheaper to buy the belt kit and water pump separately as ive seen them advertised on e-bay for around110 quid for the belt kit and 26 for the waterpump(metal impellar),and what sort of time does it take a garage to change it ? any ideas appreciated.

oooh, risky. Best get it done in Devon. ;)

I would recommend the metal impellered water pump. :) Have it in mine. £110 for the belt kit sounds about right. A garage that knows what they're doing with your car will probably do a belt change in 3 hours or less? Officially I think Skoda has it as a 4 hour job

Hi mate i have sent a pm

My mechanic is happy for me to supply parts as he adds 10% to what he supplies. Not all are. Local motor factor quotes £115 for a good Gates powergrip kit. Just got a Folletts German, w/p looks excellent quality. 2.5-3hrs approx.

I got mine done at mid cornwall cars for £290, including a coolant change and the waterpump (for reference).
