Dual Intercoolers

Featured Replies

Can anyone advise me on this question?

I have seen two aftermarket intercooler kits for the Octy RS. One is a large intercooler to sit in the middle of the car eg: Evo style, and the other is a kit which fits a second intercooler into the left handside of the car, basicly a mirror image of the standard one. Hope all that makes sense

I am assuming charge tempetures will be much lower from the centre mounted intercooler, and therefore better performance?

I'm slightly confused!

cheers

FMIC is better and easier to fit than the dual ones. Performmance is better too

Si - which front mounted ic have you seen?

The Leon Cupra R & Audi TT 225 both have twin side mount intercoolers one in each wing, but as TaviaRS said the Front Mounted IC is the one to go for, Forge do a FMIC for the 1.8T but not sure if it will fit the tavia.

Don't think it does, but check with Pete at Forge. IP do however do one that does fit.

So what's the deal with second ic's then? Does this just make performance more consistent regardless of outside temp, or am I missing the point here?
