new rear wing - not skoda

Featured Replies

Really chuffed at the mo.

Fitted my new GT style carbon fibre wing this weekend. It weighs bugger all and should provide some proper downforce as well.

A friend of mine and me have designed and had made all the bits for this as a one off (lots of favours called in). The uprights are solid alloy that we had laser cut then we have profiled and polished them at home!!

Also we didn't like the end plates that came with the wing so we reprofiled those too.

I love it to bits!!

I know it's not skoda related just a tad excited at the minute,

Anyway pics

Very subtle :P:D

Nice. Some good handy work there.

Didn't they sell a big wing instead LOL

also is the old kadett coupe yours?

I can't see it... must be one of those little stealth ones?!

Cheers guys,

I was advised not to go any bigger as it might compromise the handling.

I'm going to be making a proper rear diffuser for it too but more power comes next!! lol

The kadett is actually carolyns. We restored it by combining the best bits from this one and a spare car. We have a couple more better panels for it and are saving for a respray (oh and a bigger engine for more tail sliding)

Cheers

Why didn't you colour code it, IMHO it would look better that way?

I was about to suggest that it would look more subtle, but then I looked at the pictures again and realised that there ain't nothing that's going to tone that down!

(Nice alloy uprights)

subtle :rofl::rofl::rofl:

tbh I just love carbon fibre. They did fit a smaller version of this to the Sport 350 model of the car. This is about the same sizeas the 1996 GT1 car that Lotus ran in the GT race series.

Most of saturday was taken up with filing, sanding and polishing the uprights!!

cheers

Jeepers, thought you had nicked the one out of my garage which i took off Daves old bus.........

In my opinion it didn't sit right on the car and was never placed far enough back by Lotus. Also it was more for looks than function oh and compared to the carbon one weighed loads

Cheers

I like it  looks much better than the original one. :)
