octavia 1 central locking fault

Featured Replies

Hi Rear passenger offside door not being worked by central locking. Any body any ideas or experienced this trouble.

Hi,i have the same trouble, anyone help please??

try looking at the multi pin plug on the window regulater inside the drivers door. the plug is subject to moisture which leads to corosion, in many cases like mine the pins corode and rot away leading to problems which i have discovered today on my mk1 octy, drivers door does not lock or unlock with the remote but use the key in the door all doors lock also my electric mirrors dont quite work as they should. other things effected by this plug which is connected to the central control unit are, interiour light not working, led next to driver lock pin not working, electric windows have a mind of there own.

if you search for central locking problems you will see more threads on this subject.

Cheers will check it out..Off side rear door lock not working which also is making led light not work plus the drivers control for the window on the off side rear door only works now and again, sounds like it could be the multi pin plug, must buy a manual to work out how to get into inside of door now!!

i have the same problems with my drivers door, tried a few things to fix it like replacing lock etc. will have a look at these pins now....

its not to bad a job to do. just takes a bit of working out but if you got a manual should be easy ! let us no how you get on.

Update!! When the lock does not work on rear os door the window off the drivers controls does not work for the rear os door also, plus the red led light does not work, plus the remote mirror **** works for left mirror but on right mirror it makes both mirrors move!!! But if i hit the back door near the lock and then near the front of door it then makes the locking on all doors work again!! Nightmare.. It works a few times then reverts back to the os door not locking again!! It is not remote locking just central locking off the key...Does this point me in the direction of the multi pin plug somewhere in the drivers door?? Car is luckily warranted for 6 months on certain things....Hopefully if this is not covered it will be cheap enough to fix anyway......

It's the plug, had all the same faults, cleaned the contacts today and all well again.

Me too have a prop with door led and interior light not working will get my warranty to sort it out as have only had my vrs a week.

Cheers.
