Fabia 1.9TDi (100bhp)

Featured Replies

I haven't bought the car yet but I was just wondering what mods can be done to the car, performance and exterior wise. I think for now I am more "interested" in the performance of the car, springs, wheels, tires, brakes etc.

The more I read up on Fabia's, the less time I want to wait til I can finally get one and insure it, then sell my little VW Polo (nicknamed "Pea" because it's mint coloured )

I will start by modding the exterior (Insurance purposes) I would probably have a stage 2 re-map from Jabba to give it a bit more poke.

Any advice, do's and dont's are very much appreciated.

Thanks every one

You seem to have been doing your research already, keep reading and you'll be fine.

Your quite right Stu I have been doing research. It's actually really frustrating because the more I read, the more I want July to come around :) Can a new air intake be installed on the 1.9TDi? I understand that the vRS has the same engine with some mods right? In fact, could some one explain to me the actual difference between the two engines?

I'd like to start modding the engine first of all, I think if I can install a new air intake? What intake can I replace the original with? I have read that it reduces the amount of black smoke, is this right? I will do that and then mod the exterior. Once I have got the figures from these mods I will decide whether to remap or not since my insurance is quite high as it is.

I will add some smart looking 16" alloys with low profiles because I test drove a 1.9TDi with the standard wheels and tires and it makes the car feel very heavy with lots of under steer (although it was damp) but then again I am used to low profiles.

Depending on how long I wish to keep the car and how much my insurance is going to kill me, I might get new suspension and brakes whilst I have the car re-mapped at Jabba.

My dads vRS was from the first batch of vRS's to arrive in the UK and was also the first one taken to Jabba for a re-map :D (It's quite pleasing haha)
