N249 Mechanical Malfunction

Featured Replies

One thing I might just add. The Forge BOV still makes its noise as normal hinting that the DV hasn't failed at all? The car drove fine on the way to work this morning.

Same with mine Harry, car drives fine and you can hear the D.V.

The number of times it's logged a fault i would of noticed something was up.

Guys I've been giving this some thought and I am pretty convinced it would be caused by the issue I described above.

DV open signal is sent to the N249 (Forge Replacement) and the ECU then checks the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor to confirm that this has happened, if for some reason this pressure drop isn't within the specified timescale then I would assume the fault is logged.

I can't see any other way the ECU could determine a Mechanical Failure of the N249.

So I would suggest you firstly check that the DV is getting full vacuum and that the pipes aren't at all crimped and then failing that start reading up on the spliking issue.

Will have a look around it all tomorrow Stu. Still no log book for the new one:(

Vacuum lines ok for sure...car driving normally and no more codes.

I'm thinking it was a random malfunction 'coz its fine now

Hi

Sorry for bringing this up after such a long time.

I've been having this issue come and go ever since I installed my Forge DV and it's driving me crazy!

I also noticed a sudden drop in boost after this fault code appears and only erasing all DTC's solves it.

Do you guys still get this issue or did it go away?

Thanks.
