Extended warranty from Skoda?

Featured Replies

Has anyone got any experience with an extended warranty from Skoda?

Seriously considering this as an option as my warranty runs out next week.

What does the extended version cover and is it worth doing?

I think it comes down to the mileage you've covered. Worth checking with your dealer and seeing what they have available. I had a Warranty Direct warranty which was very clear about what was and wasn't covered. They processed a claim very quickly and I had a cheque in my hand to cover the cost within a week

On my previous Tavia 4 x 4 I took the extended warranty and was assured x SUK that it was the full manufacturers warranty i.e. if it was covered when car was new it was still covered Plus you also get the RAC (as it is now) European breakdown cover

I took out an extended warrenty after my 3 years. Came in very handy ;). Its cover machanical (excluding wear). Doesnt cover interior panels etc. It also doesnt cover diagnosing the problem. So I was charged an hours labour. Bargin really.

Just been talking to the dealers and it will cost over £400 a year and every year the warranty cover less but costs the same.

I think i will go with a new car.

Thanks folks.

Did you try Warranty Direct? Might be cheaper than a new car :D

Would i still get the same cover if i brought a none Skoda warranty?

IME you get better cover and the cover doesn't change as the miles pile on, but the contribution you have to make towards parts increases by 10% for every 10k over 70k miles I think.

Worth considering - I was very happy with the service I got when I used them :D
