Post Fitting Parking Sensors

Featured Replies

Parking sensors are not a post fit Skoda item, only factory fit.

As the Octavia Saloon is such a pig to reverse I fancy a set but I "dont do maintenance" involving anything electrical apart from bulb changing so can anyone recomend anybody in the South, preferably Hampshire who can help

Thanks

Stuart

That does surprise me - I've had dealers quote me for post-fitting!

Rob.

The original parking sensors can definitely be purchased and retro-fitted. JHM Butt lists the kit at

Although my parking sensors were included in the price they were actually fitted by the dealer in the rubbing strip.

Cheers.

Adrian.

The parking sensors I referred to above are the OEM type - ie 4 separate sensors mounted from inside the bumper.

My dealer definately told me they could retro fit sensors to my car , if fitted they go in the black plastic trim in the bumper (where i think they always were in the pre-facelift Octavia if fitted) not color coded into the rear bumper , as the factory fit ones now are. Maybe you should try your dealer again Stuart (or maybe another dealer!)

Hmm. If the parts cost

Rob, Did you get the feeling they didnt really want to do it

Zooty's dealer could be having a busy time :)

No, I got the feeling they wanted to sell me a car first then

try and squeeze every last penny out of my cobweb-covered

They can be retrofitted, by UK dealers - a dealer I know said the instructions show fitment of the sensors in the bumper and not the rubber strip, however in my opinion they look fine in the rubber bump strip and will reduce the fitting cost as no spraying is required - the cost of the part is high and there is a fair amount of labour to fit. Mine were fitted by a dealership in CZ in the bump strip and cost me

My dealer is David Ian Skoda in Morecambe, so probably a bit far north for you southerners :)

Saw some fitted to a Fabia today. Tidy job, not as obvious as some cars I've seen. Will be saving my pennies I think.

They say they fit a lot of them :)
