Hi all, my name is Tony Thatcher from Oxfordshire and after 2 years of dreaming of a Octavia RS finally got one last weekend it's a 2001 model in silver on a 51 plate with 50'000 miles had to got down to Somerset to pick it up thou, but the trip back was brill to say the least. My last car is a VW Vento 1.6 l so is a far cry from the vrs.

Look forward to useing this great site.

Banbury, not far at all! Don't know if you'd be interested but SMSTEXT is organising an Oxon meet in May, 16th if i remember right? I'm hopefully going as am new on here myself & thought it'd be a good chance to put some faces to the names etc!

So had both rear control arms replaced as the bolt was seized so I couldnt get the tracking done..now the tracking place say they can't get the camber inside spec because there is no adjustment for that and it will be OK as toe is good now.. Have attached the results.. Is the camber adjustment not this bolt in the pic..(which stands a chance is seized aswell)

Neigbour with a Fabia Mk4 called me recently, his drivers door and the rear (right) passenger doors were partly open with what looked like a stainless steel rod jamming the two doors in their partly open/closed positions, to make a long story short, it was the door umbrella that apparently had shot out somehow or other and jammed the two doors, he had partially opened the back door to let his dog out I think and had let his own door partially open, or something like that. I know that i have posted in 3-4 other topics the photos of my modified console (in various stages) but i think it's proper to have them all in one topic plus informations for the step by step procedure. Maybe another member will read it and try to modify his or someone can find via Google Search the photos and have an inspiration. Hi, It happened twice now that I walked past my parked and locked Mk IV Octavia and I noticed that the infotainment system was on and the radio playing. Anyone had this before? Both times it was on a sunny day, so quite warm inside the car. Is there any way so that the infotainment system can only be switched on with a key present? Car is from Sep 2020 with 1941 software version. Thanks, Peter
