Forge Dv installed - now i want to put the spacer

Featured Replies

I have an octavia 2.0 TFSI and i have allready installed FMFSITA - Replacement Vacuum operated Valve one month ago.The product is nice!!!

Today i have purchaced the FMDVFSiT - Atmosheric Blow Off spacer.

I have a question about how to put the spacer.

Do i have to move out the vacuum lines to get out the DV and put the spacer?

Or all i have to do is unscrew the OEM valve bolts?

The DV is installed about a month. There is going to be oil around it?

Please help me because i want to do it myself if it easy.

All you have to do is remove the OEM bolts and put the spacer in between the DV and turbo, using the larger bolts supplied with the spacer to secure it.

Thank you Harry.

I' ll do it myself.

I believe you need longer bolts and a different O-ring for the DV and BOV.

Check the bottom of this link Forge Motorsport

You may need to talk to Forge.

I send message to forge and here is the answer:

"To install the blow-off valve spacer with the full replacement valve, you will only need to remove the OEM valve bolts, slide the spacer underneath the full replacement valve and then use the longer bolts supplied with the spacer to bolt everything down again. You shouldn't need to disconnect any of the vacuum lines for the full replacement valve at all.

I have attached a link to a photograph and a diagram of how this is done.

So please close the topic. Thanks to Mike.

Hi All,

I have a Bluefin so is this replacement valve really required?

You also need a different O seal when fitting the Spacer alongside the forge DV. Forge will send you one.

Jon - The OEM DV is renowned for failure and the Forge DV is one of the products available to combat this.

Hi Stu,

Thanks for the reply. How will I know if my OEM one is on its way?

You will get the feeling of less boost, especially at the top of the rev range (5.5k+)

The car will feel flat and sluggish.

Thanks Harry, should be fairly obvious then!

Does the driving style effect how quickly they pack up? The reason I ask is that I do mainly motorway miles and dont tend to hammer it too much.

ATB, Jon.

With a harder driving style you are likely to experience a failure sooner. If you're mostly on the motorway you probably won't see a problem to be honest.

We think it's the heat from the turbo that kills them.

The Forge DV is a worthwhile upgrade for peace of mind, knowing that it won't fail.

Hope that helps you.

It can't be the heat only.DV's which have been relocated to the front of the motor, like the Audi A3 TFSI,have been known to fail, Harry.

Thanks Harry,

Last question then, if I was to go down the Forge route would it make my car sound like a bus or truck using its air brakes every time I change gear or would there be no audible difference? As im past my youth, I dont want to look like a (almost) mddle aged boy racer!!

ATB, Jon.

No additional noise from the Forge DV. It's the Forge Spacer that makes the noise.

I didn't say that the heat was the sole cause for failures - merely a large contributing factor.

But the A3 TFSI uses exactly the same engine. The S3 on the other hand has a bigger turbo plus gubbins and a relocated DV.

My friend's relocated DV,on the Octavia II TFSI failed. Now he regrets not fitting the Forge DV and having paid well over 100 euro for the relocating kit.
