anything but a skoda

Featured Replies

I was watching a programme on the telly today

(the one where some bloke finds a second hand car for a punter)

The car finder first asked the lady who wanted a new second hand car, what she wanted

She said she wanted a small hatchback and wasnt botherd what it was but didnt want a skoda.

She ended up with a 1.4 polo

ohh the irony:D

I watched the same show, it's sad people still think badly of Skoda.

Guy at my work drove my fabia vrs and said he really liked it for a second car to run back and forward to work....

... he went home said to the wife and she replied ' if you get one of those Skoda's you wont be with me '

Makes me laugh, image sensitive moron's, his runaround car at the minute is a Golf 105bhp base model TDi rolling on steelies, ROFL (i know what car i'd rather be driving)

My missus loves my car. She says it feels really safe, loves the acceleration, comfy front seats and says the looks makes a change from the "bubbles" that are coming out at the minute.

a few of us converted some scooby owners today, think it was the great 15mpg we were getting:eek:

They thought it was good

Yep just got my first Skoda VRS, as long as i dont ever drive a vauxhall vectra I will be happy.

Thats pretty strange I was having a convo the other day with the gf on choice of car she was saying that sometimes she wished we got a polo....SAME FLIPPIN CAR just about ..women!

 Classic!

 Classic!

Probably lower spec than that :D

I had someone who drives a Ford Ka slag off my Fabia... Sufficed to say I had a lot more points about theirs than they did about mine: "uhh, uhhh... cos ITS GOT A SKODA BADGE ON IT!"

*sigh*

That's strange.... I wasn't aware that Ford was now a premium brand.

Its funny, I tend to find that VW/Audi and other German presitge brand owners, along with most French car owners, tend to (though reluctantly at times) accept that although the badge still isn't good, Skoda's are actually good cars.

Ford/Vauxhall drivers seem to love getting on their high horses though.

'Move aside Subaru, quick car coming through' :D

I've no time for badge snobbery anymore. I think people who pay £ X amount more for a Polo over a Fabia just for the badge are idiots.

why pay more for a freaking Peugeot over a Citroen? An acquaintance has an Audi A3 and says he'd never own a Golf!! It's the same bloody car! Same engines everything!

I bought a Skoda because it's as good as the rest and cheaper. So when I tell people that they shut up!

I went from an A3 to the Fabia, basically because my budget would by a newer Fabia at time to change. The A3 had nicer trim, but the engineering is no different.

I was speaking to a mate of mine yesterday who rallied a Fabia in the Inca's Rally in South America recently. He's been a rally driver for 35+ years and prepares his own cars, until recently those mainly being Golf's. He said the Fabia was by far the better built of all the VAG stuff he's worked on.

I have to say the A3 was brilliantly built. It really felt well built and gave me few problems- but the Fabia is excellent given it's price.

I wouldn't mind, but every negative comment I have ever had has come from owners of other common, high production marques (Ford, Vauxhall, Peugeot, Renault, Citroen)......hardly prestige themselves. I love the ignorance, it makes me feel all the more smug.

Ford/Vauxhall drivers seem to love getting on their high horses though.

Although some Ford/Vauxhall drivers may actually be basing their opinion on first hand experiences of the "fantastic" build quality and reliability offered by Skoda ;)
