Eibach's and Koni's and ARBS Installed

Featured Replies

Another set installed here last Wednesday (26th March) at Awesome GTi.

Arrived on a cold Wednesday Morning at 11 AM (The time I was told to come in)... was still in the waiting room at 1 PM.... and at 2 PM... and finally at 3 PM they started on my car. ;)

Twenty minutes or so into the job... oooh, lunch bell... so my car is left again for about another 20 mins.

By this time of course i'm getting grouchy, but finally she was completed, tested and tracking sorted - with a Neuspeed ARB installed for good measure with a finish time of 5:30... not a bad way to spend six and a half hours eh?

Did I appreciate the wait... not really, but they did knock off an hours labour for the trouble I had with them last time with the Forge DV! :)

Anyway there is definitely a marked improvement in the handling of the car... also the road noise seems to decrease measurably.

In the twistys - she's begging you to push her just that little bit further, and feels stable and safe... with seriously reduced body roll.

Would I recommend this setup.... YES :D

Would I recommend Awesome to do it? erm...

This is the way she should have come from the factory!!

TOM and the rest of you Octy II vRS owners out there... GET IT DONE!!!:thumbup:

Good news Rob. One day when I can afford these things I might consider it but not in any rush.

Glad you're enjoying it.

Had mine done yesterday(sat), transformation is stunning aint it mate.:D

What setting are you running the ARB on mate, mine was on the medium setting but I moved it to the hard setting and the slug (with skoda sports sussies) handles pretty well now, even a tiny bit tail happy in the wet :)

Think it's on medium. :)

I'm not playing with it anymore... I'm through! :)

Suspension, Stage 1 Map, Short Shift... this is the way she was supposed to be, and when she goes up for sale in September, somebody is going to leave with a big smile on their face :D

I've had my fun... I've gotten it out of my system... now I'm looking for houses... my GF tells me so! ;)

and YES... the transformation IS amazing :D

I wish I could afford these right now!! :(

Enjoy them Paul!

Has anyone fitted this combo to an Estate?

Koni seem reluctant to confirm that sedan/estate are the same shocks.

Anyone been there, done that?

So tempting, so little spare cash.. :(

Send a PM to VRS195 as i think he has

Hello Paul

I am so sorry that you had the long wait :(

We have had 3 technicians leave not long ago

1 was asked to leave , the other went chasing waves down south and the other was quite sudden and went to work with his father as he was struggling with technicians :(

I am so sorry about that

They have been so short staffed that JIm (the boss) has put his overhalls on and done some spanners too

We do have a new technican started today and another one on Wednesday so hopefully it will not be like that again

The lads have been working up to 7pm to ctach up on the work , but it has been a pretty stressful tiome for usd

But that was a very long wait and I am sorry

I was not in on that day either :(

Again my apologies

Sarah

Hello Paul

I passed this on to Mark Ash who had a breif chat with you on Wednesday

He has looked on the camera`s and yes your car did not go in until 1.50pm

:( sorry

he said he did not realise how late it was

He has asked me to pass on his apologies too and has given me a voucher to pass on to you

It was a bad day and there was a bit of cars that had problems the day before that made the workload rather large

If I can help you further please feel free to give you a shout back

Sarah

Thanks Sarah... but I'll not be calling back again, that's three times I've been stung now!

Cheers for the offer of a voucher though... I won't be needing it but I'm sure there's a Brisky who will, please send it to Mr Tom_VRS! ;)

Hope everything comes together for you guys - don't change the coffee though - it's nice!!

Blimey Paul, you really have got a bitter taste in your mouth. Have to give you a  for not being typically British about it! :P

Nice to see Awesome giving an apology though, nothing worse than ignoring criticism imho.

And what have I done to deserve a voucher?

You bought a Red Octy!!

Or more to the point... you need it more than I do ;)

. Guilty on both parts!! Cheers for sparing me a thought Paul. :)

Think it's on medium. :)

I'm running mine on hard; its great in the dry being very neutral, but does feel the slightest bit nervy and oversterry in the wet.

I'm not sure whether to keep it as is, or move to medium - perhaps as we are into the warmer/dryer weather I might leave it until the Autumn. :D

In all honesty though, do you blame him.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

If it was my car and I'd had such bad service they may not have even got a second chance never mind a third or 4th.

You bought a Red Octy!!

I think you should send it to me. I need it more than he does.

I think I should have it - I need a new one of Sarah's bushes. :eek::D

How about I sell it to the highest bidder?? :P

Its mine I tell you, all mine! :D

Actually it's nobodies... as the offer has been withdrawn on account of me spitting my dummy out at Awesome over private messaging :o

The exchange was concluded peacefully though :)

Fair enough Paul.

:)
