Seat Ibiza....potential problems?

Featured Replies

I've just bought a 1995 N reg Seat Ibiza 1.0CL for my brother. While looking over the car I spotted white gunk on the filler cap. First thoughts were head gasket? also the car seemed to warm up very quickly (but not to into the red)

Told the lady that was selling it that the head gasket was going etc and got

It sounds like its just condenation through lack of use.

I worked for SEAT before joining AmD and I dont think I ever did a head gasket on a MK2 Ibiza in the two years I was there, this dont mean they dont go but you get me.

Give her a good run and she'll clear out.

Proberbly not the gasket at that mileage, as ross said its proberbly caused by sitting around a lot. Clean it up and see if it returns, good bargaining there.
