no nothings comin up on the dash.just feels very diffrent from when i picked the car up etc

Hmm , does it go heavier when you turn and brake at the same time? I had that problem and it turned out that all the fluid was leaking from my steering rack - I had to get a new one fitted at a cost of £677. It also may be the pump , which could cost a pretty penny to fix as well.

The Fabia's Power Steering is Electro-Hydraulic

I am guessing perhaps a part of the electric servo assistance has failed, maybe it's only working on one side.

Sounds dumb but have you checked your tyre pressures on both sides?

also tracking and camber can have odd effects articulrly camber, have you kerbed it or been in any big potholes?

is it still under warranty?

Fonz,

Funny you should say that, for me too it feels like it feels heavier turning the wheel to the right. My power steering fluid is fine and the power steering light hasn't flashed up, but I did a quick "test" on a roundabout and it seems to turn fair enough at the same speed either way.

Give us a shout if anything comes of this though!

Hi

As a new fabia 1.4 16v owner I was wondering do all fabias pull to the left are they camber sensitive The steering wheel is not centered, however there is no feathering on the tyres and all the tyre pressures are ok Parks Hamilton say that there is no problem and I am just imagining the fault

My 100bhp AUB has had many steering issues.

When I first got it, it pulled to the right (hello on coming traffic)... phoned selling garage "oh, that's a new tire on the passenger front, that's why.. it's gotta wear in" hmmmmmmmmmm, ok, maybe a little..

got the wheels aligned and balanced at quick fit (£30.. bargain).. sorted it a little and then it did fade a little more over time (maybe the tire did wear in, you are supposed to change in pairs, anit cha'?)

bout a fortnight later my PAS pump fails. Skoda fix it.. steerings REALLY light to start with but settles.. still pulls a little to the right, doesn't really follow the camber.

over the next 4 months 4 bushes go, car gets really clunky and the steering gets less responsive.. infact.. it pretty much kept going whichever way you pointed it.

Turns out the front assembly had been dropped at some point, with the wheels hanging down.. and torqued up in that position, and in the wrong order.. this is what caused all the bushes to go at the same time.. once it was back on the ground they were all under higher tension then they should have been.. it was a skoda dealer that fitted the PAS pump, and we suspect they had to drop the front assembly to fit the pump.. hmmmmmmmmmm. clever.

anyways, my mechanic drops it again, changes bushes and bearings and re-assembles it in the right oder, to the right torques, with the wheels in there natural position..

When I drove the car, FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER! it followed the camber! It was like driving a different car, dare I say, a new car!

Just thought I'd share, I guess my point is that it could be soo many things causing funny steering!

Rob.
