Not happy with Bodyshop & Vindis

Featured Replies

Sorry

If they took the bumper off the car perhaps they put it inside the car to store it or something

Hows the paintmatch though? Is the repair satisfactory?

I understand they take the car to Vindis Swavesey for their paintwork.

I tell you what mate i wouldnt be putting up with that. i agree with you completely. like you, i always keep the interior clean too cos although its not the easiest to keep clean, i really like the standard seats. if i got my car back like that there would be some drama. mine went into the bodyshop not too long ago after hitting half a brick on the motorway and i got it back just as i left it. if it had come back like that id be just as ****ed off as you:thumbdwn:. id get on to them and ask them what they intend to do to get your car back to the way it was when you left it cos its just not on.

Thats not good mate, even if they stored the bumper in the car, you would think common sense would preveil and stick covers on the seat.

any good bosyshop should valet after any work,

that is bang out of order, have they never heard of seat covers, i had my old car fully resprayed and it came back spotless, and i mean cleaner that i ever imagined it could get,

take it down there and ask them if they think this is acceptable!!!!

Hey dude, thats totally, totally unacceptable! If I was you I would be spitting nails. It needs to go back straight away dude so they can rectify the situation! I know a few people that have had that happen and the companys responable paid for the car to be valeted so it could be returned in the condition that it was left with them. Don't let them get away with it mate!

Keep us informed on the outcome. :)

I agree.

I was offered a full valet by Vindis when I received some shocking service from them. See no reason why they wont do the same for you :)

FWIW I don't tend to use them now.

:)

its always the same with these things, "it wasnt me", "its nothing to do with us", "we dont know how its happened" - blah blah blah. at the end of the day it shouldnt have happened in the first place - you just want them to sort it out!

Disgusting, but no surprise :(

I would insist on having a proper Detailer come and sort the car out, I would "shudder" hate to have them "valet" (scratch and swirl) it.

Hope you get it fixed.

Mines got to go back again... they still havent re fitted my tempreture sensor that they lost when fitting my rs bumper.

theres also dripping from the paint when it looks like its been rushed, and the bumpers peeling now:( its still matt on some of the bits on the bumper... which I never noticed until the other day. and where they repaired my wing it wasnt even properly sprayed around the arch so you can see where they sanded off the paint!!

I even said to them there not going to get it perfect so I could of ordered the wing at the time!! but its too late now. I dont have £80 laying about. and its been 4 times already...

theres also hammer marks in the actual wing too. when I got my car back it was never tidy, in a state some how they got mud everywhere!? how much do they touch when they go to park the car:confused:

I know how you feel :(.

ANNND!!! theres still overspray on all my windows... they've managed to scratch my windscreen when they tried to take off the 1st lot of overspray.

theres overspray all over the bodywork. it used to be silky smooth. swirl marks all over the bonnet too and they scratched my head lamp:(

Thats a disgrase! Hope it gets sorted, id being ripping heads off if that was me!

If i get new seats i should try and blag for the leather ones!

go fot it mate!!

at least give them a chance to clean them up first. before they do, however, get it in writing with the branch manager that if you're not 100% happy with the cleaning that you'll get new seats, or the seats re-upholstered with new cloth foc.

Asking for new seats straight off - from THEIR point of view - could be seen as trying to pull a fast one. happens all the time with some customers ('i've just picked up my car and there's a large scratch on the rear bumper that wasn't there when i left it here, i want it fixed' 'would that be becuase you've just reversed into the wall of the showroom sir, as our service manager witnessed?' 'grumble grumble')

It's still not acceptable though, but give them a chance to try and put it right. then, when they inevitably dont, go for the proverbial jugular :)

I'd hit the roof. That's completely unacceptable.

The thing is surely someone would of saw the marks and say something. I would of expected them to clean the outside to or was I dreaming?? Its going in tomorrow to see if they can get the marks out! If not im sure they will sort it out. Im still wound up tho

A lot of garages do clean the outside - but only as a courtesy. Their only obligation is to clean whatever they need to clean to allow them to do the job.

If you spent £100 at Tesco, you wouldn't expect them to come and cook your tea would you?

THAT WOULD B A GOOD SERVICE! :D

but if the bodyshop made the mess in the inside of the car it is expected they should clean it

but you wouldnt think they would be so careless at trying to not get it dirty right...? common sence...

the cars clean hmm ill try not to make my mark on everything!

I agree with all the comments, they should have used seat covers which would have avoided all this in the first place. I dont think the dirt will wash off, if there is the slightest trace you need to get them to replace the seat fabric. They wont replace the whole seat though, only the covers.

Sounds pretty much like normal service from Vindis. They got marks all over my seats when they tried and failed to seal my doors. Their service is abysmal, they can never be bothered to answer the phone and they tell bare faced lies.

I for one won't go near the place again be it for service/waranty/car buying and I would recommend anyone else to do the same.
