Any one fitted the pipercross viper kit? Is it worth doing, any improvements or should I just stick with the pd160.:confused:

hi mate i have fooishly fitted one of these to my 172 and vts in the past and without the correct airfeed set up they are useless and can make you loose power.. i lost 4 bhp on my vts and 3 bhp on my 172 when i had it rolling roaded. luckily i did not pay the 250 for them and got them cheap but the bmc i my opinion is 100 cheaper and is much much better. great sound and a much bigger filter...the pipercross one mate is tiny inside. i would stick with the pd160 and a green panel filter mate:)

From what I've read and heard they are utter tosh.

Peak power was not increased but it did give me more in the midrange as shown on a dyno. But then if I fitted a clean std filter I bet that would increase the midrange too.

Stay with the pd160 and panel filter. Its a good setup and my car makes 230bhp and 370lbft with this setup (obviously i have other mods) but i am just saying that if it works with that level of tune it should be well on top of its job at just remap state of tune.
