Skoda Superb 1.9 TDI 2003

Featured Replies

Hello, i am new to this site, but we have a problem with our Skoda. It has just had 41,000 mile service and MOT. The car was running absolutely fine before the service but since then it appears to have lost some turbo boost under 2,500 revs (loss of power). The garage was unable to find anything wrong with it. We have since taken it to a Skoda franchise for cambelt change and for them to diagnose the problem but there are no fault codes coming up, but the garage have driven it and agree that there is something not right. They recommended we take it to a Skoda main dealer, which we are doing this Thursday who have the same diagnostic machine, we will be taking the readings with us.

I am concerned about the extra cost incurred to diagnose the problem. Has anyone any idea what could be causing these symptoms? I can't believe that 2 different garages cannot pinpoint what is wrong. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Hello :)

welcome to briskoda

Hi Welcome Sarah, try asking the same question on the Superb section, somebody will give you a answer I am sure.

Hello and welcome.

Afraid I can't shed any light on possible problems but Soldatov's advice is good, see if there's any other Superb owners that could help out. Also try General Car Chat as more people will probably see it. (not sure if the Superb section is that *busy*)

Hello & welcome :)

Deffo try posting in the Superb or general car chat.

(If you become a member, you can use the 'ask a Tech' section too - some really good knowledge in there .

Does it feel like its holding back after you press the accelerator and then seems to pull all of a sudden? or does the turbo not seem to boost at all?

Just thought I'd ask, as my Fabia vRS had a boost pipe come off and it serioisly affects the lower end performance? (I would have thought that it would come up on the fault code though). - these pipes don't always come off, they can just work loose and leak (a hissing noise was what I had to start with).

How is the fuel economy doing? mine went right down.

Hope this may help, as is said, try posting in the Relavent sections.

Enjoy your tim eon the site, it does get addictive though when you have some spare time :D
