Converting MP3's

Featured Replies

Has any one got an idiots guide to setting up mp3 on a cd. I've downloaded dbpoweramp to convert to mp3 and I'm then trying to use the window xp cd writing box thingy to burn them. Is this right ? or am I been a complete spanner ? (trying this out because I'm thinking of getting a kenwood mp3 player)

You just want to write a data CD containing the MP3's rather than an audio CD which will convert the MP3's to audio tracks (and stop them being mp3's!). I'd recommend using Nero (from http://www.ahead.de) which allows you to do this easily :D

Bugger my might has mentioned using nero and I said I didn't need to as XP did it all for me (he's got a key generator (allegedly) for the sample download of nero) I'll have to ask him for it (how smug will he be !!!- bloody audi drivers always know best)

Lol - I'm sure XP can do what you want, but Nero will make much easier to do and is worth every penny. ;)

I use Audiograbber to rip to MP3, then Nero to write the disks.

I use nero, as it will rip to my HDD, then possible to write to CD.

( dont use mp3 cd's , have an HDD mp3 player in the car.)

Nero is definitely the dogs wotsits for your CD burning requirements, but I can recommend CDEx for the ripping bit, it is available from just about anywhere (download.com, zdnet etc, just search on Google). It is very fast and best of all completely free - my favourite price.

I was about to post a reply recommending CDex myself, something I've done quite a few times. The official site is http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/

Nero is fine for burning your CDs. The easiest way is to use Nero Express, which is included with the full version of Nero and bundled with some CD writers. One of the options it gives is specifically to create an MP3 CD.

I use Audiograbber to rip to MP3, then Nero to write the disks.

Yep same way I do it. Works fine for me.
