paint bubbling.

Featured Replies

on the rear door i've noticed a few bubbles forming.... no there really small but theres a few and the doors got a small scratch on it anyway. would skoda repair it under the 10 year paint warrenty? its only 6 years old.

and another thing... i washed the sills the other day and some paint just flaked off in my hand. it was covering a rubber grommet that had been paineted over.

any reason their consealed with paint? should i not that to skoda too as it wasnt me who chiped the paint off delibratly?

Mines is under 4 years old and has two bubbles at the drivers rear arch, i'd say under neath they will be rusty, will they fix mines too??

in the middle of getting mine sorted for paint bubbling and its only a 3 year on rust and a 10 year if it starts fron gthe in side of ur car

sent a message to skoda uk and this is what i recived back

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the paint warranty for your Fabia vRS.

I can confirm that ©koda vehicle warranty covers paintwork for twelve years against anti-perforation (an impurity in the metal causing the paint to bubble) and three years against a defect. Stone chips and scratches are not covered by this warranty.

So a bubble is anti-perforation (12 Years) but if this is left to rust its only 3 years??

I just had all four doors resprayed under warranty for bubbling. I decided to removed the sidestrips and only got the drivers door one off by a few inches when I noticed the problem. The dealer first argued that I had attempted to alter the car from OE spec and so would not be covered, but I pointed out that not all Fabia's have sidestrips, and as it was obvious that the problem was caused by water trapped in the foam adhesive pad behind the strip that it was a design/manufacturing fault and nothing I had done in removing the strips then they would be liable if they wanted to go to court over it. They decided that they would tell Skoda that the strips had come away and the fault was noticed whilst trying to reattach them.

This was mine before repair....

Did they give a reason?

My 04 plate went in for rust spots on the tailgate under warranty on the 7th, skoda paid.

Came back with:

Broken spoiler

Scratched tailgate glass

Bonding agent all over it

Dirt in paint

Runs

Dent on new tailgate

Broken boot trims

Missing clips

The colours ok though........
