Hybrid Fabia Info Needed

Also whos the best to map them (im based at gretna green) and what should i expect with a forge fmic? 200-220??

I also have the helix and smf that i forgot to mention

;)your clutch adds no bhp

best off traveling for this one, no-body round about us do a good job ! yeah go to turbo chip and get him to create a map for you but it wont be very good and you wont get it rrd

;)your clutch adds no bhp

actually it will :)

seeing as he has the single mass flywheel so will be both lighter and quicker to accelerate/deccelerate it will provide lower transmission loses.

it won't improve the torque the engine produces and therefor the flywheel power but it will provide a more freely revving engine and as it has lower transmission loses the power at the wheels will be slightly higher as there is less mass to turn, much the same as fitting lighter wheels, carbon half/prop shafts etc etc.

Just mentioning i had the clutch sorted so safe to go for a Hybrid.

The clutch has improved the all round drivablitly of the car, gear changes are far quicker, best mod if done so far

Deep pockets and an urge to throw money at a car like its the last car on earth

Or, he could buy my car and save himself the hassle. It only needs a new clutch and it will be split mint :D

I can confirm after being in your car at the weekend that it is truly mental.

It's wierd being in a Fabia that is simply that fast and truly relentless in the way it picks up speed. Sat there in white seats and looking at the same dash and yet with the world zipping past as we did warp 9.

Oddly enough when yours was just mapped (nowt else) it felt more 'manic' in the way it delivered it's power. It's now much smoother and behaves like a really big torquey petrol with no noticable turbo surge. Tis a lovely turbo to be sure.

Yer and i thought it felt slow when we were out in it. It was slow when we were out in it cos it had a big split in the boost pipe again

Thats why it kept going into limp mode :o

Come out in it now and feel the real power.......much better now and less smokey too :D

Its manic when it wants to be and smooth when you want it to be

You need to drive it this time tho, might feel abit safer behind the wheel as apposed the me the lead foot guy behind the wheel ;)

Thanks ;)

Really??? So that wasn't even full whack? Good god....

Definitely have a go in that mate. I'll need to save up for the fuel though. :D

Anyone wanting 200+ BHP....I can confirm from that experience that it is easily possible and it's still fully usable, turning the car into a monster.

One thing though.....you NEED good brakes, and I was equally impressed by those 312's. I nearly choked myself on the seat belt when they were stomped on.

Cant wait then, i was always sceptical if there would be THAT much more difference over a mapped one to justify the price tag.

Im all sorted on the brakes front :)

You'll love it. It's not what I expected though.

The map he has on is a seamless surge of power with no noticable 'dump' of torque from the turbo as it spools up. Instead the power just gradually rises and rises like a big petrol, and it revs like one too.

Think a really smooth top end biased map.....then imagine that but much more eager to red line and beyond with the engine feeling more fierce and less diesel like and you'll get the idea.

I strongly suggest you have a go in one before you do it yourself though. The one I went in didn't have any real grunt bottom end due to greater spool up times and the nature of the map.

Don't forget too, you need a GOOD clutch for this. And the DMF will not last long either unless you are really really careful.

Yup, forge pipes  they keep coming loose and air escapes from the sides. then it pops off completely................sdi power lol.

Need some strong hose clips the ones on now dont like me

That wasnt stomping on the brakes, you would have been through the windscreen mate if i had given them full power :D;)

Need to drive it to feel the full power, will arrange something soon enough

Nice.

Those are some cool brakes. Should be standard on the Fabia....it's heavy enough.

Let me know when you're ready mate. I'll take a day off just to have a go in that thing. :P

Why not try some self emalgamating tape (sp?)

I know its not the same but i was getting the oil leak from the turbo boost pipes (near the brake resevouir) taped it up the other nite with some emalgamating tape, its ace stuff and holds / forms tightly ??

Just a thought

Nice.

Will do chris, working tomorrow but if weather is nice on thursday/friday evening can go for a blast then. Will let ya know mate.

Race?

:D

My old Golf gave a 50bhp difference from an ordinary mapped 130 to a hybrid:D on the same RR. Remmapped it gave 170bhp and when i fitted the stage 2 turbo 220bhp so there is a huge difference

Race?

:D

Who me?

Anytime mate  Prepare to be wasted............... o hang on we got the same car with the same mods but yours is abit lighter but i have smaller wheels  Should be close :P
