Hybrid Fabia Info Needed

Featured Replies

Right i'm looking at upgrading my fabia over 200bhp, would love around 220/230..

Plan's are Forge FMIC (around £600)

Then its a Turbo but i have no idea about them, what is the best one for the bhp im looking for? also how much will it cost? and most importantly where?

Also anything else need uprated?

I have 312's, eibachs, cupra bushes and front strut brace. anything else? I will prob uprgrade to a Miltek afterwards so i suppose the OEM exhaust will suffice for now

Thanks

Jason

Jas, i recon the best guy to ask would be Devonutopia! the mad scientist (in a good way) lol lol

injectors?

Mine has the following spec...

Performance Modifications:-

Awesome Gti Custom Remap

Blueflame 3" s/s exhaust - turbo back - decat.

Green Cotton filter panel + Forge Prototype Air intake.

Garret/Turbo Dynamics Stage 2 Hybrid Turbo

Forge Custom made one off Front Mounted Intercooler

Sach Sintered Paddle Clutch

Uprated Injector nozzles.

Braking and handling:-

Eibach sport springs all round - lowered by 25mm.

Eibach Shocks

Jabba sport Rear Anti Roll Bar.

Tarox G88 Front Discs and Tarox Rallye Pads

Seat Cupra Lower solid front bushes.

Poly bushed front wishbones.

With the performance mods mentioned, my car is seeing 218 bhp, and 349 ft lbs, with plenty left in reserve. "Should" be capable of 250 bhp, and over 400 ft lbs.

Basically if you havent got a hybrid yet, get one ;)

mine should be ready in the next few weeks ;)

it's going to have stage 2 hybrid turbo, miltek sports cat exhaust, seat sport FMIC, sash clutch, brembo's, K+W coilovers, strut brace, one of thoe c+d carbon filters.......and the final remap which i will have to speak to awsome gti or star performance in a week or so.

with that im looking at taking that from anywhere between 210-240

Anyone got any price figures for all this stuff? Just I wouldn't mind doing it but would like to know relatively how much it'll set me back first

Two ways to getting a hybrid turbo.

Way 1.

buy a second hand garrett turbo from a golf pd130/pd150 (gt1749va/vb)

Then send to turbo dynamics for hybrid rebuild, cost £450+vat for stage 2

Way 2

Go to a Turbo dynamics supplier (jabba etc)

retail on the stage 2 is about £1100

For over 200bhp and being able to use it forget the sach and DMF you need a spec or a helix setup with the smf (live with the chatter)

You will need a free flowing exhaust.

Most of all, remember the car will smoke its t!ts of when its done so get used to cleaning the ar5e end

have you still got the different cam in yours dave?

Oh yes ta Bengie - And an allards camshaft :)

Do people seriously do this to what is a shopping car? Wouldn't it be much cheaper (and safer) to buy a car with >200bhp to start with?

I like it Babs lol

Nice reply, I like it!

Im just a "young un" so i can get away with it

a vrs a shoping car

tbh the vRS is nothing special just a regular fabia with a 130PS TDi and slightly stiffer springs so as standard it really is just a shopping car that looks sporty but obviously with a lot of mods it can quite a rapid car, but why would it be any less safe?

Please................. lets not get into yet ANOTHER debate about this subject.

Mr Bloggs, please use the search facility and you shall find many many many tedious topics about this...

Back to the topic of what Jasc "needs" for big power if we may.

With running high power outputs and the increased "smoking" is there any possibility of failing one's MOT on emissions? I had a stage 1 tuned 306 DTurbo-S and that used to smoke more than the president of Marlboro and it failed on emissions consistently...

Deep pockets and an urge to throw money at a car like its the last car on earth

Or, he could buy my car and save himself the hassle. It only needs a new clutch and it will be split mint :D

Nah smoke should be absolutely fine as long as it is not broken in some bad way :)

Yes, a shopping car! Yes, I can use the search function, however it is pretty useless if you're seeking to "prove a negative" as it were. It's a free world though, and those who wish to spend their hard earned folding on their Furby, well, good luck to them. In answer to the "why wouldn't it be safe?" question- Well, fine just as long as you spend as much money making the thing stop and stick to the road as you spend making it go quicker.

Whatever floats your boat, I've had 3 Fabia VRs's the latest one is a Blue Ltd version. I use it mostly for going shopping in.........

You are quite right, freedom of speech prevails etc, I wasn't arguing that point. Merely the subject has been covered to death, as have the good and negative points. This topic appears to be a member asking how, and how much - not if it is in your opinion the right thing to do. Hence my post about keeping it on topic...which wasn't aimed squarely at you ;)

With you having just joined the site, maybe you should assume that the OP knows what he is doing, and has had the forsight to do some research :)

I have done some research and the only thing im unsure of is the turbo,

So a T2 hybrid jobbie from turbo dynamics is the best option then.

Also whos the best to map them (im based at gretna green) and what should i expect with a forge fmic? 200-220??

I also have the helix and smf that i forgot to mention
