Cleaning glass????

Featured Replies

Hi all,

What do people find is the best product for cleaning all windows(inside) without leaving streaks etc.

Almost tempted to try the stuff swmbo uses on the windows in the house!

Thanks in advance

Works for me! Remember to polish with some screwed-up newspaper once dry to get rid of any stubborn streaks!

Meguiars NXT Generation glass cleaner or Stoners Invisible glass cleaner.

Use two microfibre cloths, one for applying and one for drying.

Works a treat. No need for newspaper/kitchen roll etc. Megs dries quick in the sun though so you need to be quick.

The majority of household glass cleaners are awful.

Megs Glass Cleaner but the bulk version you can cut down is what I use and also some special window cloths that I bought from Pepboys and Autozone in the US.............works for me.............

Il second this method, takes 5mins and is alot less hassle than fannying about with paper!

I've found a good solution to stop the fabia windows steaming up if youve got this problem

first clean off with autoglym fast glass

apply autoglym glass polish

then apply rainx anti fog leave for about 10 mintues then buff off

I use domestic glass cleaner, and get excellent results. The way I do it is to get some kitchen towel, hold the sheet flat without screwing it up, spray a gernerous amount on the paper towel and then clean the glass by wiping in a continuous straight action in the same direction, without stopping (eg. from top to bottom). The cleaner soon dries and leaves the screen perfectly clear.

As soon as the kitchen towel starts to discolour, discard it and get a fresh piece. The streaking is caused by moving dirt around, so the key is to always use clean cloths/kitchen towel.

i use the autoglym glass cleaner cream stuff, did them tonight in fact as the windows were getting a bit grimmy inside. easy to use, dont have smear marks afterwards and its easy peasy to clean with (better than the spray stuff).

Another vote for Stoners from me, I brought a couple of quarts back from the US last year and it's still going strong and does a great job on the conservatory to

As I didn't have anything fancy I used some Windowlene using the technique above... Awesome results, the key is kitchen roll and using clean stuff all the time. Nice Tip!

I just use a damp shammy and then a tea cloth and my windows are perfect.

wash the car/windows, auto gylm polish if really bad then finished off with auto glym fast glass, all using a mf cloth, cant go wrong.

I use a very weak spray solution of fairy liquid wiped off with clean kitchen roll. Really good for tints too...

Autoglym Glass Polish gets my vote.

Easy on - Easy off. Great results with no fuss.

ive also noticed with the AG one that it lasts a good month before it starts to get dirty again, where as everyting else ive used in the past didnt make it past the one week point before smearing started or dirty look.
