To misquote Mark Twain, there are rumours on here about Fabia vRS turbos blowing that are greatly exaggerated. So I'm setting up a poll. Please vote as appropriate, and maybe add your mileage below...

Never, in over 60k miles... :)

As with any forums all problems are over exaggerated.

People hardly come onto forums to say everything works fine.

Plus if there was a genuine issues with them im sure that plenty of TDI golfs would be stricken

Dont want to tempt Fate...

i've tempted it, i can feel my turbo waiting for me on the works car park,

arghhhhhhhh

It's a no from me, but it's only done 16000

And now im touching a lot of wood, and not in a self arousing way either!

i forgot to say 43k KKK

Yeh mines blown.

Remapped at 3,000 Miles.

Blew at 14,000 miles - Replaced Under Warrenty.

Blew at 15,000 miles - Replaced Under Warrenty.

Blew at 15,500 miles - Replaced Under Warrenty.

Took to JabbaSport who found the map was spiking badly due to a faulty Vacuum Box.

Replaced Vacuum Boc at 15,500 Miles - Sadly I paid for that. :P

Now at 18,000 miles and so far so good.

*begs and prays*

Oh and its an 07' with a KKK.

Jesus. That is bad luck! Good to see you got it done under warranty though!

I agree, just make sure you keep your own and your cars description vague and hide any numberplates ;)

Couldnt agree more my friend. Always blur out my numberplates and where I brought the car from, and avoid mentioning any mods I have done to my car on the forum or where I live.

The only thing is when I had that warrenty work done my car looked totally standard, so I am guessing they did not look too deepy at the ECU because I guess they felt they had no need. If I brought it in now with a blown turbo they would definitly suspect a remap because my car no longer looks standard.

Blew at approx 58k and then again 1,500 miles later.

Jabbasport diagnosed it as a faulty boost controller and touch wood it's been fine since.

No - but standard car and only 38k

No - KKK 58K and counting (and just been remapped).

Was standard with 25,000 when I sold her.

Garrett Flavour according to the tech that service her ;)

No now done 157,000 !

Dont want to tempt Fate...

Nor me!

I'm a 'No'... 53 plate, done 70K... I'll update you as to whether sod's law intervenes now!

50k No Blow.

Without looking, how do i know if ive got a garrett or kkk?
