Number Plate Frame Without Screws

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I quite like the idea of getting a number plate frame which allow number plates to be slid in and without the annoying screws in the middle :)

Does anyone know if this is possible and where you can pick one up from?

I d much rather a sticky back number plate and a clean number plate then one with two screws in the middle....

I think the same  i hate the screws in number plates but i just got number plate sticky tape and stuck them onto the car that way........leaving a nice smooth look

edit:- don't no where you get the holders from but tape can be bought from garages/car shops

Are we talking about normal sticky back tape?

No, its not normal sticky back tape. I got some sent to me with my new plates, it sticks like cement in seconds.

The type of surround I think you want are the ones with a hinged bottom like the one shown here.

Have you used these in the past?

My only concern is taking them off every now and then to wash the car without runing the paintwork :)

I've used something very similar, They're semi permanent, Usually after 2 years or so they need replaced.

As they're foam based if you were to remove the plate (Not that easy) the foam gives up before the adhesive does, The residue can be cleaned off with the likes of AG tar & adhesive remover and a fair bit of elbow grease;)

So far I've never seen any Paint work damage caused in their use.

Jason - Does that just sit over the standard number plate holder on the vRS?

yes after taking the standard plate off theres a slight recess where the plate holder fits like a glove, then just clip number plate in, obviously im using german plates but you can use normal plates with them too

You've given me a nother idea Jason.
