My bestest picture I ever did take

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm off work sick and very bored so excuse me! I've looking through loads of old photo's on my PC and found this pic of one of my old cars. I think it's a really great pic, mainly because I loved the car, but I think it really came out well, too. I haven't got a particularly flashy camera or anything and I don't really know the first thing about photography, I just laid down on the floor after wahing the car and took a picture. I like the way that the part of the picture that is actually in focus is actually the grass in the foreground. The car itself is out of focus and so is the grass immmediatly in the foreground. I just really like this pic, I think I might get it printed and frame it, or is that a bit sad!? Any way, here it is.

Arty people, your thoughts? And would anyone else like to share their fave car pic they've taken?

Looks pretty good. I don't think you'd be sad for wanting a printed and framed copy.

Oh, and hope you're feeling better soon.

Ta! I think it's just a flu bug mixed in with another dose of tonsilitis, much fun...

i took some of my vx the other day, came out quite good too! got a nice low down shot. the road ran left to right in the pic and was quite steep. so its at a angle. that combined with the low shot and the 60mm drop it makes my car look like its sitting on the deck!

i also got one with the front poking out from a old brick wall, bit of moss going up the wall, quite rustic looking :)

Thats a cool pic:thumbup:

how come you got rid the car?

Some local 'yoofs' took a disliking to me and expressed these feelings by lobbing a lump of concrete at the car, among other things...

I think it's a good pic. If I had one criticism it would be too much green; more skyline would finish it off a treat.

Yep, a little bit too much green for me and actually think those first few blades right at the foreground detract and take your eye away from the subject. And I'd have taken out those longer pieces by the door and over the front wheel. But I'm being really picky...

Awesome car too

Numpty - it's a Honda :P

Nice pic - but slight criticisms as the others have mentioned.

Maybe a simple crop might do the trick e.g.

But, it's whatever works for you

Shame you had to get rid :thumbdwn:

I knew that a) someone would say that and B) it would be you :D

Nice pic, and I'm no photographer, but I'd quote the rule of thirds and say that if the grass only came a third of the way up the pic, I think it would look a bit more balanced..... also I agree with Wardy - I'd have got rid of the long blades of grass that go 'over' the car.... If I had more time I'd photoshop them out and show you what I mean lol

cool car though ;)

Umm, thanks for the comments. Like I said, I don't really know anything about photography and I've never used Photoshop in my life!

Great snap mate, I know what you mean about the picture
