Well done I ordered the Super pro Arb bushes which I fitted today. Made them nice and greasy so no squeeking feels a little tighter already (placebo maybe:rolleyes:)

Just waiting for Tony to deliver my Powerflex goods next week now :thumbup:

the rear bush with voids in are crap when they are new, never mind when they've done some miles, so "looking ok" is no gauge really. Change them for poly's, the difference is immediate :D

I have now fitted my poly bushes !!!

Thanks to awesome sarah for sorting me out and to Fluffmeister for delivering the goods.

And a special thanks to my mate who fitted them in about an hour without any special tools or presses

Much better generally, but they have made my rattly u joint rattle worse :o

Well get the rattly joint sorted next ;)

Ha ha , nah glad you managed to get them done my dear ;)

So next job on the list is the joint and then is that it?

I belive the rattley joint is a pig of a job as it's a integral part of the steering colum, so new colum required :(

And there will always be something to do as it's a crappy skoda:O..........didn't you know their 5hite

No , I didnt

Mine has been fantastic so far ;)

All the Skoda`s I have owned have done the job well

Silverline Favorit , Felicia SDi and now Fabia 100PD

I would say I have done approx 140k in Skoda`s , just bad luck ?

I got four of the six bushes I ordered  They missed one set out of the courier bag

They're the first thing I've wanted that were actually cheaper in NZ than UK (presumably because they're made in Aus and it's closer)

Are you gonna fit them your self Rob, I gave my mate a hand if you need any tips ;)

They are pretty good no extra noise or vibration but the car does feel a little tighter on the front end.

As said though in my case they have caused my steering rattle to become more pronounced.

I think the old soft bushes took some of the movment out of the rattle, and now thats all tight the rattle is bigger and more noticable.

I have a mate who's an ex-mechanic (now works in IT!)

I've asked for his help to do them, when they all arrive.

Any tips are always appreciated :)

The 3rd set have gone on the offside

Which side do you sit on ? :D

  • 4 weeks later...

I got them fitted by the local VAG specialist in the end!

Initial impressions are very good indeed. Everything feels a little bit firmer and less rolly at the front. I don't know if I'm imagining it but braking feels a little better as well.

They had some issues getting things apart and stripped a thread on a tie-rod, which they had to replace. They rushed to get it done by five and in the process fitted a passenger side tie-rod on the driver's side! Anyway they sorted it all out for me the next day with no hassles and got the tracking all sorted out, so no harm done.

Bit disappointing for the local specialists!

Now to save up for the rears :)

I find it's definately more stable and less wallowy (is this a real word)

Yeah braking will be better, less movement.
