Am a relative newb to this "stick your own POIs on your tomtom" thing - as in, I've just learned how to do it tonight.

Question is then - What are the most useful POIs you've come across, and where can I get them from?

I'm sure I got my last load from Pocket GPS World but not sure how long ago that was...

Cash machines

Sainsburys

Tesco

Morrisons

Fish & Chip shops

English football grounds

Plus quite a few others..... And of course their speed camera POI's. I use the seperate one's that cover each camera type and speed limit seperately. I added a camera so now have life membership too. :D:D

I've only ever created one POI category myself and that's for British ice hockey arenas.

i have sainsburys and tesco's on from the days were i had to fill up there, but also have on wifi (as i can conect to the net via my ds and a crap internet browser program on my lunch breaks) and also shell petrol stations. some locations are out of date but majority are there, just dont get caught out of going to a tesco on the tomtom map to find its a tesco express and not a fuel station

Can someone please point me in the direction of the Shell POI for Tom Tom. I've never got around to putting it on my sat nav and now I can't find it.

GPS POI Data Directory - Free POI Files - GPS POI Data

Go in to UK, then petrol, then DL the Shell one. Others there too. I put them all on for France, Belgium and Germany too.

This thread was just aimed at others. Will have a browse of above links later on this evening.

click on poi download page and choose whatever you want including the shell ones.

Just remember there is a limit of POI files that you can have.

I think you'll find that the max POI limit was raised from 39 to 100 on the stand alone units from v6 of the navcore software. :thumbup:

My PocketGPSworld speed camera database takes up 30 POI's alone.
