New glass

Featured Replies

As I'll be going to a couple of weddings this summer and feel I'll end up being asked to photograph, I thought it was time I bought a new lens at the moderate wide angle end to accomodate.

Was browsing the web and looking at a couple of specialised photo places and managed to pick up a prime Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM second hand in pristine condition :D

Just had a quick play with it and I need to practice ;) Shooting at f/1.4 gives such a narrow depth of field, it makes focussing a little tricky. But the effects you can get are awesome. And of course, stopped down a bit, it produces fantastic sharp photos.

I may go out for a walk this afternoon and snap away at my local urban hell :D

what camera is it going on?? and i think that that lens is great,,,, it got the gold award in the digital photo mag recently.

Nikon D200.

Trying to resist buying a D300 as it's only £850 at LHR T5 :o

But already have a D70 which I bought years ago.

Resistance is futile!
