GTA 4 Full of Bugs.

Featured Replies

My copy of GTA 4 is causing me a heedache. I spent about 10 hours on it then it started freezing and would not load. I ended up having to delete the save files, then I ended up deleting the whole install and starting again. Twice. It was also cause the whole system to freeze up thus requiring a switch off at the mains.

I've done some investigating and the games forums are awash with similar problems. Even Sony's tech guys have issued a lengthy and complex fix for the problem. It seems to affect PS3 more than XBox, the 60GB model (mine) is particularly affected.

I've found a temporary fix where if internet access is disabled and Media server is disabled on the PS3 then the game works OK, (so far, touch wood).

So a heads up if you are considering buying this game. I would wait until Rockstar issue a patch to fix it, as it's bloody annoying having to start all over again.

GTA4 would have been out last October had it not been for the PS3 causing them so much trouble.

Yup but due to a Rockstar/Microsoft deal we get a 360 only download soon which adds a load more to the game :)
