I thought diesels smoked,

but this just seams ridiculous!!

Anything i can do to lessen it

Clean out injectors etc?

you want to try running mine with a harsh map on it bud,i put my foot down off boost and leave a smoke screen:D

Could try a pd160 air intake and a new air filter

pd160 and green filter definately helped mine mate i am sure that when you drive it more and give it a good boot eventually it will reduce pal

This may sound unbelievably ammature

but whats the best rpm to change gear?

First ever diesel car

First ever turbo

2nd ever car

1st being a mitsi colt 1.3.lol

aye pd160 and a pannel filter will help, mines beyond any induction help now tho;)

mine is mapped mate but for normal crusing 3k is when i change and comes back onto the power band at 2k so keeps you propelling forward nicely. it took me a long time to get use to the diesel mate as i had a 172 clio before but you will get there pal

Why would you want to stop the smoke? That's the best bit!

I so thought this thread was going to be something else....

and a dose of millers sport 4

Definitely

Quite a few on here swear by it it.

I think i win the competition for the smokiest fabia :P Mines a black fabia and the whole rear end goes a hazy blue colour after only a few miles

On boost its not smokey but off boost its very smokey indeed.

in 6th at 100mph the "private airfield" behind me just dissapears in a hazy cloud of soot :o

Change at 1500 rpm, don't go over 20 mph. No soot :)

Edit: clean your car every week :P

but whats the best rpm to change gear?

Basically don't let it labour in any gear.

And don't boot it in a high gear at low speeds (in other words low revs) or you can damage the DMF (dual-mass flywheel - i.e. shake it to bits).

Essentially you'll get a feel for what is wrong and what is right by just driving it
