22" Monitors

Featured Replies

Its that old monitor question again..

My 22" LaCie Electron Blue IV is getting on a bit and weighs more than my car!

Its about time i replaced it, i have been looking around and its a mine field..

I have been looking at the Samsung Sync Master 2232BW but is there something better? I use it for a bit of graphic/web design and gaming.

Is it not worth pushing up to a 24"? then you get the benifit of higher resolution.. 1920x1200 instead of 1680x1050?

Yeah i used one earlier and it was very nice indeed and it has 2ms response time :o! But i think i would probably benefit from the extra resolution of the 24" now i have thought about it. But which 24"???:confused:

No idea, we were looking at 24" and decided to save the money and go for the 22" widescreen as it was under half the price.

Thought being you can always run 2 :)

Sure it's nice, but you can have 3 of the 22" samsungs for that price.

It's down to personal preference I guess.

Another one to consider,

Iiyama 2201W, we have had one for a few months now and while it may not be the best looking monitor in respect of styling, the image quality is very good,2ms response and was well priced, maybe worth a look?:)

I was thinking of selling my Dell 2407WFP soon, as i hardly use it?

How much would you be looking for? What kind of use has it had?

And this is mine

OcUK Value L2442WD-VA 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Glossy Black

Bought it before christmas when OCUK were having an offer of £199 (cheapest 'name' brand was around £325 at the time) . Superb for the money and includes DVI. There is (was?) a huge thread on the OCUK forum about it as most peeps couldn't believe how good it was. Some have the usual dead pixel issue but I am more than satisfied with mine, and as a fairly hard core gamer I think it is excellent value.

It used on my gaming pc, which i hardly use now (i mostly use my laptop).

Its never been used for more than 4 hours continuously, i'll have a look for a receipt to see when i bought it (less than 2 years ago). I know the box is still in the loft etc.

Was going to have a clear out when i return from the ring next week, bit too busy packing suitcase etc. at the moment to look into it, but i'll keep you in mind.
