Hi All

I have recently contacted Skoda UK and reported an issue regarding the wheels (NSR bent). These wheels are 'not fit for purpose' as they are to soft. Anyone who has had a problem with bent wheels on this model and has reciepts, the original bent wheels etc PLEASE contact Skoda to make a complaint. They will ask you to take it to the dealer for inspection (mine was carried out yesterday) and hopefully if enough of us shout loud enough (I intend doing just that as both mine and my neighbour who has one as well, have now had bent rims) we can all get these ridiculously soft rims replaced for something suitable.

Please get in touch with Skoda UK. There are plenty of complaints on here considering they were only fitted to 500 cars.....

Thanks to all.

Now this is interesting! I, errr, ahem, 'apex'd'  a very low drop curb on a roundabout a few months back. It was the sort of thing I wouldn't even have thought again about in any other car I've ever owned, but I noticed it left a bulge in my sidewall and and a flat spot on the wheel. then a few weeks back my Mrs drove over a chuck of wood in the carriageway  . she was only doing about 30mph, as expected it chunked out a 'V' from the tyre but the damage on the rim is considerable!! it's left a proper dent, with cracking of the lacquer layer. way more than I would have expected from such a relatively minor mishap. I felt with both these things that the wheels seemed a bit 'soft' but then thought I'd be laughed out of the dealership for raising it, after all, we did hit things whilst moving! This makes me think other wise though.........

Damaged wheels on the LE are very common. I had four buckled wheels on mine which was about 16 months old at the time. Unfortunately Skoda UK Customer Services don't want to know as they meet UK legal requirements. This is covered in more depth over here - http://www.briskoda....heels-register/ - so probably best to discuss it there. Good to raise awareness in this thread though should any prospective purchasers be reading so they can make an informed decision.

This issue really spoils the car in my opinion, I think Skoda UK should replace all wheels on all LEs maintaining their exclusivity and providing safe vehicles for their customers. It's only 500 sets after all, that's a small cost for Skoda.

If everyone runs back to Skoda with little problems they will be bankrupt lol
Wheels would not be covered as there a wareable item as such and any alloy wheel can buckle if u hit big enough pot holes.

David as a loyal Skoda customer, I think I can safely say the LE wheels are a shocker, given the quality of the Zeniths and subsequent Neptunes, they are as I say one of Skoda big mistakes, shame really as the interior with the LE seats is as good as Skoda have ever managed, so they hit the heights and plumbed the depths in one car. Still love my LE though, but this year I am canning the LE dinged wheels towards winter tyres and will be getting Neptunes. Still love my LE though. I think new wheels will give me another year with the old girl.

Has anyone got a noisy one ie wheel bearing gone sounds from the rear i have read up its down to poor suspension geometry on the rear and poor dunlop tyres ?

That'll be me then - I own No 479 and it sounds like an Estelle from the driving position.  Bought it in Maidstone and it lives in Gravesend, dented wheels and all.  Thanks for the tip - I will be off to the dealer next week before the warranty runs out.

Might be getting one of these soon - gonna check
The wheels are circular first of course......

As for the softness of the alloy - has anyone had any experience of alloy wheel insurance?  A search online suggests some dealers offer wheel
And tyre (combined) insurance for about £350 for three years - but I can't find any providers or prices at the mo.......

Forget the insurance and put it towards a set of Zeniths, they look smarter and they are stronger.

Prefer the monzas to the zeniths (only marginally but still).  Apart from that, it would take six years of insurance premiums to pay just the cost of the zeniths, let alone factor in refurbs or even one puncture claim.

They have the larger facelift wing mirrors. I believe the blue tint is to reduce glare, feel free to correct me!

If you're going to buy, get the wheels checked out for buckles and consider what you'll do when they do buckle - because they will!

Rather cknfusingly, some have blue tint whereas others don't - you can even see this from the various pictures of the ones for sale online.

Hopefully sort this in the next couple of days - although frustratingly enough, the dealer I'd planned to buy from are now being a little less helpful than they were before.  I think it's because the price I've got them to (almost) match is close to their bottom line, and it doesn't help that I've spoken mainly to one person but dealt with another one or two during the test drive.  That's said, it's all had to be cleared by the sales manager each time so you'd have thought there would be some level of consistency.

Interesting the Insurance company have my VRS down as a LE but I can't see any sign of it being an LE, I have the leather / alcantara seats ?

Edit: As mine is a 2011 FL VRS that concludes that it isn't an LE, wonder why the insurance description comes up aa an VRS LE.
