Oh well I've ordered it in Candy White with silver roof bars. Here's to many long days of washing it! :D

Delivery currently end-of-April to mid-May. Looking forward to getting it for that 'new car' feel again!

It all depends really on how much time you spend on your car, the white ones are just a flat white, no matter how much effort is put into cleaning and waxing ect it still does look anything more then when youve just ran a sponge over it, whereas the red can be made to look beautiful.
I like to spend hours detailing my car, thats why im so glad i got the race blue, it really 'pops' when it has been waxed, iv had a white car before and its just a tad boring.

So in conclusion, red for me :)

There is also a distressing trend for grey and/or black alloys which are a taste that I don't think I could ever acquire.

+1 defo !

White easily.

It's easy to clean. You can simply jet wash white regularly and it will look clean. The metallic red color requires alot more work to keep it's shine. Also the DRL look alot better on the white imo.

Great choice...I am still stoked with my Candy White...there are a few nooks and crannies that need attention when washing.
I have to disagree with Ema Jane on the white looking "flat". Mine comes up well with a nice shine and the paintwork is a s good as any car I have owned and that includes a 3 Series.
Happy motoring and enjoy the freedom of the outside lane as nobody is quite sure if you are the fuzz!

Each to their own but you can get a real depth to red, white is just white at the end of the day lol
Its not so much the shine its more the colour, its hard to describe but iv just detailed mine today and its looks epic, has not aged a day :)

It would be nice to see some pics of non VRS estates in both colours.

I was thinking about a black vRS next time, with black wheels... With Red or Race Blue as the joint second choices, Green 4th.

White can be made to look glossy and 'wet'.

Reflections are no where near as good as darker colours though.

Excellent choice!

Like most subjects on this forum its subjective so you will always get the 'anti Brigade' espousing there preference as opposed to yours.

2 years on and still enjoy the comments made by passer's by. Does make the occasional driver slow down it has to be said.(plod factor).

Blue is more common so it's good to have that exclusivity! ;)

60k+ on and still Whiter that White :D

If you are worried about having to frequently clean your car why not use a paint sealant.  The sealant can be purchased from a number of suppliers online.  I have treated all of my cars recently using carlack for a fraction of the price of superguard treatment frequently offered by the dealers:

White all the way - it's the new black.

Agree to some extent that the red can be "worked" more - I used to have a Storm Blue Octavia and worked really hard to make the flake pop, which it did. Inbetween that and the Superb, I had a black Audi - awful colour, just couldn't get it to shine.

The Superb on the other hand is great - detailed it the other day with Optimum Optiseal, Optimum Car Wax then a couple of layers of Z6 and it looked awesome.
