  • Naybo, welcome to the South I'm across the way in Southampton and fairly new to the site. Always up for a beer!

Ha. I love Silverlake. Plenty of VWs to steal upgrades from too.

  • sorry on the late input guys! im from ringwood but usually around the soton and pompey area for work meetings, i have yet to meet another bri skoda member or even see one so im a bit bummed! i would l

I live near Welcome Inn, go to the little Co-op fairly frequently... a shagged blue estate... :giggle:

:o you are literally round the corner :giggle: I'll keep my eye out for you

Silverlake on the road between Botley and Wickham has several Firby's that are being broken at the mo. There's a good pub not far from it too

I live right next to silverlake, always in and out of that place they always have a good selction of VAG cars, but the parts never hang around for long. And which pub are you talking about? :D

Here's a question xD

Do any of you chaps know a good place for a camping mission?

Just like, a field or some woods or something like that where i'm unlikely to be harrassed by farmers or bears or whatever.

A few of my mates have suggested going camping but, i'm such a newbie to the area i've got no idea where any good places are to just park your cars in a bit of a circle with your tents all up and tenty so you can have a few beers and the ritualistic meat cookery.

I'm surprised how many folks there are in this area now, once upon a time it was just me and a couple of others down here in the Portsmouth/Southampton areas.

Bears  there's a few decent spots that have been certified bear free for a while now, fairly cheap out of season if memory serves

Might help if I mentioned that they are in the New Forest!

The pub almost opposite Shedfield Equestrian

Oh fantastic!

Someone mentioned somewhere called 'Fox's Forest' but they were fairly hammered at the time and nobody else seems to have ever heard of the place =P

I'll have a bit of a google to see if there are some nice free spots in the Forest anywhere then.

I've heard there are some insane Horses knocking about round that area xD

I know of some awesome roads in the new forest around lyndhurst way if we all fancy a day in the forest, and there is a pub called the snakecatcher which has very good food and also the red shoot i think its called has good food! I think a few photos of all the cars in the forest would look great too!

Its brilliant knowing there are a fair amount of skoda fans are nearby!

there's also The Cuckoo inn and The Lamb Inn, I can personally (hic) reccom(hic)mend them both

Jesus Christ monkey balls, that sounds like an amazing idea. Give me a time, date and location and ill be down for that :D

Lets keep an eye on the weather and plan something for either a saturday/sunday when everyone is free and the sun is actually out, i think its meant to be rain for a while yet, im suggesting meet on the outskirts of Lyndhurst and then go to a pub for lunch? if we all fancy it! and whatever pub we decide on i will phone ahead before the meet and pre-warn them we will be coming (not in a bad way lol!)

Also find a few nice areas we can take some photos of all the motors together!

Im quite excited now :S

I've discovered that with the awesome power of my Diesel engine, I can creep up to Fiats (Panda's and 500's), get bumper to bumber and then push them (with their handbrakes still on) and leave them 7 feet further down the track than the driver parked them.

I did it to one of my friends last night and it was utterly hilarious but, the downside is that you get a nice smell of roasting clutch so, It's one of those powers i'll be using VERY spairingly methinks.

Really looking forward to a meet up though, I can't wait to go and play out in the Forest :3

Every so often someone parks in my space in front of the house. Two spaces turned into one. Using gentle persuasion (and circa 300lb/ft), one space becomes two. :D

Count me in for a New Forest meet... as long as it's a Sunday!

I work shifts but if i'm around i'd be up for it

I'd be up for this too, I live in locks heath near Fareham. I only brought my little fabia a month ago but I love it, and need an excuse to take it down some nice roads :)

Also is anyone going up to Castle Combe?

That's almost exactly what I did except 2 months ago!!

Except mines not a vRS........Damn haha.

I'm not at Castle Combe but i'm heading up to the Welsh meet on the 12th May.

Really excited about that one.

Does anyone fancy organizing something local for saaaaaaaaaay, Saturday 5th of May?

I'll make sure the weathers good for it xD

Ooft. Count me out for that, my birthday's the day before and I will be hung to the over, therefore incredibly grumpy!

I'm trying to think of a date thats not the Welsh meet and not the Pompey meet xD

I'd sayyyy......May 19th?

My MOT is the day before though so, if it's bad news =P

19th May is good for me at the moment, 5th isn't so good. Good luck with the MOT :) I've only once taken my own car for one, my old Audi, failed on CV bush and had 10 advisories which is why I now have the Skoda

When I got the poor girl she was really suffering from neglect so, i've been getting clued up and doing my absolute best to get her back on the road to glory.

She had a Camshaft Sensor error a couple of weeks back but I'm hoping that was just the ECU getting confused because the Brake light switch was knackered.

She's got new disks and pads, new glow plugs, new engine temp gauge, the tyres are in fairly good nick.

There might be a bit of umming and arring over the exhaust but, I don't think it's blowing or anything it just looks a little worse for wear.

Attacking a Scrappers in So'ton this weekend for some more bits and bats though xD

My old Audi's back box was seriously deteriorating. Just got an advisory if I remember rightly. I suppose it depends which part of the exhaust.
