Just dipping my toe in the water.

Hello all I'm new here, I don't have a Skoda yet but am very interested in the marque.

I'm still running vehicles with contact breaker points ( apart from my rusty Citroen van with an XUD engine ) but will soon be making a foray into the world of the " modern car " as I now have a job that requires me to travel sixty motorway miles round trip a day and economy will be to the fore.

To begin with I'll probably be reading a lot of the old postings, petrol versus diesel, which engine size, which Skodas don't have DPF, MPG for each Skoda model, sub 2K spend etc etc. I'm sure I won't be the first to be pondering these sorts of questions.

Regards,

Geoff.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Hi and welcome :hi:

Welcome!

Sounds like an Octavia TDI (90 or 110) will be best for your usage, mileage and budget. :)

Think Longyear has pretty much hit the nail on the head tbh.

Its the 1.9 tdi model so pre dpf anyway and will be mid 40s round town approx and approx mid to late 50s on a run. Will be anything from 1500 upto 2000, age , mileage, service history and condition dependant obviously and plenty of boot space if you need to carry tools, luggage or whatever.

Should really say 1500 and up

This looks alright though:

ebay number : 110893456619

Its a leon tdi 02 plate Within budget.
