Featured Replies

So its been a few months since i bought my pride and joy so thought id share what ive done so far, bought with 94000 on the clock 53 plate. Trying to keep the mods fairly subtle at the moment and as 'insurance friendly' as possible. Heres a list of things so far:

Front splitter

Plastidip grill surround

Pasty boy badges all round

6000k Hid kit

Led sidelights

Led numberplate festoons

Uprated console bushes

Powerflex ARB bushes

Replaced front tyres

K n N Panel Filter

Custom Remap

Heres a few pics, im considering maybe a decat and also need my rims replacing or refurbing sometime when funds permit.

;) I love em. Not sure how rare they are but ive not seen a pic of any like them, all the leather seats seem to be black? I presume they are original but does anyone know?

pretty sure although could be wrong factory/skoda upgrade leather was black with a choice of piping normally leather like this is done after by people like seat surgeons quite pricey IMO someone will be along soon to tell me im wrong or right though :)

That probs makes sense cos as i say ive not seen any like it yet. So i presume they use the original seats just re-cover them? It seems to have been a pretty flawless job.

yep thats it ive seen a couple there was someone on here with exact original colours in same layout so only black bit was in the middle i wouldnt have minded them! and if its seat surgeons which i presume it is then i dont think ive ever heard of them doing a bad job! deffo worth the money if you have it to spend :) (which i did not :() got to say i do like the leather in the original colours! well near enough as yours is :)

oh yeah and forgot to say nice car! not to sure on the badge at the back think the front looks better :) but everyone has their own taste! hope your vrs ownership treats you well! within the 4months? that ive owned the SE all i keep doing is fixing things only little bits but all adds up but think its all worth its for the drive of them! :)

As i say i only bought her a couple months ago and didnt have a big budget, one of the problems i noticed generally looking round, was with the seat bolsters (esp on the drivers seat) being worn/torn/discoloured so when this one came up with leather and what seemed like a fairly good deal (£3300) i was on it like a tramp on hot chips

Thanks ! and funny you should say tht cos im still not sure about the rear badge either tbh (it is growing on me now tho). Looked really nice without one at all but it means welding and filling the holes :(

what about getting the same as the front badge or changing over to the new badge? and we have a SE come into work with no badges at the rear have to agree does look really good just dont think its worth the effort

Figured id revive this old thread instead of making a new one. Had the car for a year and still loving it, ive been in talks with skoda and today dropped her off at dm keiths in leeds to have bits of paintwork sorting out all under warrenty. Absolutely brilliant service so far thanks to Simon and Matt in branch for getting it all sorted under warranty, even tho its at the end of the 10 year cover, getting tail gate (rust under numberplate) rear 1/4s (spot rust here and there) and the sills (rust and bubbling in places). Only downside is i have a 1.2 fab in its place for 2 weeks :( Since ive had it ive just been making sure everything is as it should be, giving it a service every 6k new spring on front new dampers on rear, upgraded bushes, 4 new tyres, new battery. Just trying to give her a new lease of life really so now its time to sort paintwork and wheels, heres a few pics of the nasty bits that are getting sorted.post-88400-0-11919700-1367940964_thumb.jpgpost-88400-0-18905500-1367940973_thumb.jpgpost-88400-0-16714100-1367940984_thumb.jpgpost-88400-0-77133200-1367940993_thumb.jpg

My seats were done by Transcal in Livingston for Chatham Skoda when the car was new.

Awesome ! Ive never seen them on another car before. Look almost identical, yours a grey with a slight blue? Were they offered by skoda as an upgrade then?

It's just the light, they are grey and black. They were offered by the dealer, not Skoda themselves as an upgrade. Specialist Cars Skoda in Dundee sent mk2 VRS seats to Transcal for leather a few months ago, think it's around £1200.

So thought id revive my (very) old thread instead of creating a new one, finally got round to lowering on apex springs and got a good deal on some sachs supertouring gas shocks. Also put octavia silverline alloys on as i got a good deal off a member on here. Let me know what you guys think? Heres some pics
