Rapid estate?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if they'll be doing an estate version?

A sport back type thing is supposed to be coming, which is kind of like an estate.

While I have been disappointed by the Rapid, I have to say this looks gorgeous with that 'fastback' styling.

Nice pic Boss Fox

Thank you.

I nicked it off a thread started by "The Plumber" on this website. :)

Integrity and a good post. You are a role model for the rest of us. Nice one!

I think i would rather have the normal rapid, than that

From that angle that looks much better than the saloon!

It is not quite right is it, judging by that photo. Too much back and not enough fast for a 'fastback' perhaps? SAAB used to get that look spot on.

The photo is a photoshop so don't get too excited.

There will be a second variant of the Rapid called the "Spaceback" but nobody is quite clear what it is. Whatcar seem to think it will be a Golf sized hatch similar in looks to the Vision D, whilst others are expecting an Audi A3 Sportback style kind of car.

I hope it isn't just another estate with a fancy name...

The other model is going to have a shorter rear end.

So you'll have a smaller boot hatchback, bigger hatchback that looks like a saloon (current one) and sportback estate.

Ah well, will have to look elsewhere then, I prefer my estates as estates, not some styling exercise where you can't fit any box shaped things in the back because of the steeply sloping rear window... Back to the Roomie or Fabia... Or if Motability discounts allow it, the Octavia! It's a shame that the stylists lose sight of the fact that people buy estates to be able to carry stuff and try (and sometimes succeed!) to design out that function...

Praps I'll get used to it but looking at 1 in the dealers this week I preferred the back end to the front (and I've always been a T!t man). Boot was a fair size tho not anywhere near the Octy, but the MkIII Octy looks to be bigger which'll leave me a bit stook between 2 stools.

Agree with the PM above- it has practicality problems similar to the old 3 series BM tourer and the latest i whatever it is hi-undy which the motoring press slated because the load space was poor and the rake of the rear tailgate just doesn't work. IMO that is of course

rapid *couple would be nice

Very nearly just made a pillock of myself. The "Rapid estate" I spotted parked in front of a local Skoda dealer at lunch time must have been an Octavia estate. The Octavia and the Rapid do look similar if you're not paying that much attention!
