1.6 petrol?

Featured Replies

Anyone else owns a Roomster 1.6 petrol. I am amazed at the fuel economy (47 at constant 60 on a 300 mile round trip) and it's pretty nippy.

Used to have one. I never got as high as that but I never drove at a constant 60 for that long!

Mine's a Tiptronic, I seem to average around 37 mpg on local runs of around 12 miles, best I've had on a long run is 41-ish, but that's not restricting it to 60, but including some motorways. Readings just taken from the display, not checked.

I suppose the Tiptronic is a bit thirstier, but very happy with it overall, never missed a beat.

I have a 1.6 petrol, 6 speed auto with Tiptronic. I average more than 600 klm on 50 litres 'town driving' - speeds up to 80kph. I get about 750 klm for 50 litres on the highway at 100 to 110 kph. I was totally surprised how well it goes on the highway. Takes the hills with ease. Bought it for my wife but she doesn't like it - says she can't see out the driver's side window - so I drive it and she drives 'my' car.

I have a 1.6 petrol and have never got 47mpg out of it,IIRC 42 has been my best up to now-fairly happy with that though

just bought a 07 1.6 petrol and in the few days ive owned it had 40.8 on road runs

i'm impressed to say the least 26 miles from wherre i bought it and petrol only went down 15 miles on clock

it is nippy i found even coming from a 2l coupe with 145bhp at the wheel

on a long run i'd expect at this rate to get 50 which i got in a suzuki swift sport round the lakes once

anyway it's better than some wuoted at 32 on roads and a lot better than about 28 i got before if i was lucky

It must be me then we've just bought a 1.6 scout, coming from a Volvo s60 d5 and a broke fabia waiting for a new coil reader.

Just been down to somerset at no more then 70 and trip says 45 mpg but it seems to me to lack power on hills doesn't seem any better than the 02 fabia but apart from that we like it.

i guess it 's what you compare it to i had a 2l hyundai coupe would go up most steep hills in 4th,i don't expect this to,my suzuki swift sport was on high petrol all the time so cost more to run but again light and would go up any hill in 4th even the high ones in the lakes,i used to get about 36-38 round town on that, which i seem to get more so far on the roomster

can't fault the drive and it's as practical as i'll need

i did have a fabia 1.4 mpi which tbh cost as much to tax and more to run when i sold it
