How do you tighten the handbrake?

Featured Replies

Any clues?

Under the ash tray there's a nut. That's all I can say lol.

Pull ashtray for rear ashtray out, should see the handbrake cable, goes to the adjuster, should see the nut on there. Probably got the names wrong and that's for my Vrs .sorry can't see what motor you've got.

it's the same for all MkI Fabia's. Skoda, to the best of my knowledge, never made special vRS handbrake cables and adjusters.

As mentioned pull out the rear ashtryay and there should be an adjuster nut, 13mm IIRC :)

Cheers boys

10mm nut! Takes a bit of getting to... Ratchet 10mm spanner is the best bet

Double nut it when you tighten it to stop it slackening again

i noticed my handbrake was a bit slack (6 or 7 click instead of 4)

turned out to be rear calipers sticking so fitted helper springs and wd40'd the caliper

job done!
