This has been posted before in this forum, but I would like to have some questions answered...

MFSW UPGRADE for a Superb II 2011 Estate Elegance with standard 4 spoke steering wheel, cruise control and white matrix display.

1. You need a steering wheel with switches like  3T0 419 091K-E74 this is a 4 spoke MFSW, so You can reuse the airbag from the old wheel.

2. You need a Clock spring / Electronics module for a highline version etc: 5K0 953 569 H (this is superseeded with 5K0 953 569 AL).

   - I have a module  5K0 953 569 without the ending letter "H", my dealer says this is a "H" but some googling says it's a lowline version.

   - I have also seen other like 5K0 953 549 B, so what is correct to use ??

3.  You need a new airbag cable  3T0 971 584, there is also versions of thisone... 3T0 971 584 C/MF, 1K0 971 584 C ...

? What is correct to use ??

4.  There is also mentioned a Multifunction control unit in the collumn, but I don't have that in my Superb II.

?  Do I need this control unit or not ?

5.  Programming the car by VAG or VCDS

I hope some of You have the answeres, cause my service centers and VAG centers could not answere these questions.

2. Look here: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/VW_Golf_%281K%29_Steering_Wheel_Versions

3. It desn't matter, You can upgrade Your existing wire by adding 3 wires and one plug.

4. You have to think abour removing existing stalk on wiper side, because the multifunction will work properly, but presence of additional switches on stalk (to operate maxidot before) will generate the error message - module incorrect coded

5. Coding is a specific matter of steering module, mine is coded as follows (remember I have KESSY):

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 16: Steering wheel (J527)       Labels: 5K0-953-569.clb
   Part No SW: 5K0 953 569 H    HW: 5K0 953 569 H
   Component: LENKS.MODUL   014 0140
   Revision: --X01---    Serial number: 20120623302169
   Coding: 1002140002
   Shop #: WSC 33361 790 00001
   ASAM Dataset: EV_SMLSNGVOLWS A01004
   ROD: EV_SMLSNGVOLWS.rod
   VCID: 3D5FF6FFAC1131F6BF5-8068

   Multifunction steering wheel control module:
   Subsystem 1 - Part No SW: 3T0 959 537 A    HW: 3T0 959 537 A  Labels: 3C8-959-537.CLB
   Component: E221__MFL-URO  H07 0011
   Coding: 830000

No fault code found.

Thank You for info Enriquez.

I have now changed steering controller with 5k0 593 569AE, and had service sentre coded it.

There are still some problems, they didn't fix.... buttons on right side... phone, maxidot roller and the back button.

Maxidot is still working, but with the stalk.

Do I have to disable stalk control with vcds coding, to make wheel work?

How to get phone button to work. (I don't have bluetooth yet) so it will be a mute button, as on the radio.

All advice is appreciated :-)
