Automatically disabling superb start stop system

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I don't normally post on these forums, but I thought you might be interested in a solution to automatically disable the start stop system that I've fitted in my wife's 2014 Superb. As many of you will have found, the options to modify the temperature or battery voltage with Vagcom have been disabled in the latests cars.

I've managed to over come this by installing a timer delay pulse relay wired into the start stop system. These relays can be bought from RS electronics. When the relay senses the ignition being turned on, I set a time delay of 10 seconds ( to allow the glow plugs time to heat etc ) then the relay puts a 500ms pulse across the start stop button, which de-actives the system, the same way as manually pressing the button. It sounds complicated, but there are only 3 wires to connect, which all go to the start stop button, which is easily accessible

Thanks,

Peter

Hi, I assume this is a 12V delay timer? Can you give a part number, and any advice of what wires to connect to on the switch? Thanks, great idea.
