Hi there hope someone can help me out here as I have not found anything on google when searching this particular fault code.

My fan blower stopped working yesterday when driving to pick up the other half from work it happened to me before but it came back on pretty much straight away.  Have scanned it and it keeps coming back with the same fault code even though I tried clearing it.

Just had another go at this, removed the motor from casing disconnected from the resistor module Bosch 9140 010 507. The motor spins fine when connected directly to battery. I'm beginning to think the resistor module could be faulty here?

Thanks for your reply M11UKR

Driving to work this morning the bugger came back on and is working again. I have ordered second hand one of Ebay so I suppose I have a spare just in case. One more question though what does 'Open or Short to Plus' exactly mean? My understanding is that there is an issue with wiring is that correct?

Thanks

Arthur

I'm seeing this issue on my 2010 VRS Petrol Hatch - bloody typical with the weather starting to get worse!

The Motor has been tested and this spin's freely, so don't think the issue is here.

Could you provide links to an eBay seller that can provide the resister module? I'm struggling to find one that stocks the part for a VRS Petrol.

Sounds familiar. My mkII golfs used to do this and indeed the fan itself was fine, it was the circuit board slipped onto it that was always the issue. Luckily, back in the day, it was easy to get one of them from a scrappy for a couple of quid cos they didn't know what it was and it was just another pcb to them. How times change. :(

My 2011 Octavia is going back to the garage tomorrow for the 5th time in six months for the same problem.  The blower only works on the '4' setting because 1,2 and 3 have stopped working.

We drove 400 miles with this fault last weekend.  We put the blower on 4 until we can't stand the heat/noise, then turn it off and the windows steam up.

I have read all the many posts on this problem and printed them out for my garage.  Fortunately I have not been charged since the first visit because they are as keen to get the matter resolved as I am.

The replacement parts (don't ask me what - I am a woman) come from the Skoda dealer but they could give no explanation as to why the fault keeps re-occurring.

This may be a silly statement - but we have noticed that the blower (when working) seems to slow down when we turn left.

Any comments?
