  1. I ordered a new Octavia and specified I wanted roof rails and window trim in black. Five months later the car arrives, but now I have to wait for the arrival of black window trim and roof rails. Could this not have been done in factory?
  2. I ordered a new Octavia estate last May2021. I specified I wanted to change the chrome window surrounds and roof rails to black and the stripe across the dash to grey. The car has just arrived with the dealer, but now they have to order the black window surrounds and dash strip, which I have to pay extra for and will not arrive for a few weeks. Surely they could have been changed in the factory when the car was built. We see all these videos about automated factories where all the bits arrive at an assembly station by robot and are fitted by factory workers. It would be much easier to fit them at the factory, rather than have to dismantle existing parts, especially roof rails, where the roof lining has to be disturbed.
  3. I had the red car drawing appear again in the Maxidot when a car in front stopped and I had to brake suddenly. I am beginning to think the Personalisation was changed at the last service and it could be due to this. I am not too worried about it as the car is running ok.
  4. I just had a red car symbol/drawing appear in the Maxidot for about 5 seconds accompanied by a ping. No indication of any faults anywhere and car running as normal, Called dfealer, but they have no idea what it could be.
  5. I just had this same problem today. Car has done 7500 miles. Today when I started it in P (DSG) the engine started increasing revs. Put in D and it went back to normal Switched off and restarted. Same again. Drove it after revs went down and it has been alright since, but I am taking it for a checkup next week. Not sure if the engine management keeps a record of faults like this.
  6. I have heard of the Economy mode being selected and display shows D1, etc. This is on a January 2018 Octavia S. There are also problems displaying media data
  7. Thanks. That's what I thought, but the person who asked me is an engineer so I began to think maybe he was right.
  8. Another silly question. I've been asked if my 1.4 Octavia with DSG also has a torque converter. I thought the DSG replaced theTC. (VW trucks have a Torque converter)
  9. Thanks for all the replies. Dealer is going to adjust the bill to refund me the cost of the winter pack. Would have like the heated windscreen and washers, but will live without them. I really like the car. It's got the DSG and a pleasure to drive. I have driven the old torque converter automatics and with a small engine they were gutless. Fuel consumption appears to be higher than I expected, about 41 mpg. My previous car was a 2.2l Mondeo diesel and consistently got 44 mpg, but was not as quiet as the Skoda.
  10. I am new to this so I might not be posting this in the right place. Just bought a new Octavia estate 1.4 TSI. it was supposed to come with heated windscreen, seats and screen washers, the Winter Pack. Did not realise until I got home and started to play with all the buttons etc that it doesn't have this Winter Pack that I paid for. Called salesman and he said I can't have it on a 1.4tsi. I Googled this and I got a Briskoda Forum from last year where someone was told the same thing then later was told they could have it I am a little annoyed and being duped. Anyone else having this trouble? Apparently it varies from country to country so it is nothing to do with engine size.
